Located just a 40 minute drive from the Ferry and Eurotunnel Terminals, Chateau de Dohem is the ideal choice for a holiday or short break with family and friends, it is easy to reach from the UK and perfect for celebrations, hen parties and spa breaks. Holiday in France without the hassle of long travelling distances.
Imagine staying in a fairytale castle; set in the heart of a Natural Regional Park, in a tiny hamlet called Dohem, hidden behind a high wall and approached through wrought iron gates, there's parking for plenty of cars. The back garden has views over rolling countryside as far as the eye can see.
The current custodians, Marcus and Wendy Clark, have lovingly restored the Chateau throughout, and it now offers 7 double bedrooms arranged over 2 floors decorated in a romantic French style. 4 bedrooms have en suite shower rooms, and there is a large family bathroom with a traditional bath and a wet room style shower. 3 larger bedrooms have single day beds with trundles under.
The Chateau has a spacious lounge with a wood burning stove for cosy winter evenings. The dining room seats up to 16 people. There's a games room with pool table, study with WiFi and a fully equipped cooks kitchen. The converted barn houses a sauna and massage room.
Outside the kitchen is a decked area with large table and chairs, and across the courtyard is our outdoor bar and Wedding/Event Barn with gothic doors, lovely oak beams, atmospheric lighting and fabulous music system. Ideal for an intimate weddings, vow renewals and special celebrations.
To the rear of the property is a huge multi-level decked area enjoying far reaching views of the countryside and incorporating brand new hot tub with mood lighting, fountains and blue tooth music system, outdoor swimming pool with loungers and sauna.
The landscaped gardens have a lawned area with shrub borders, a pergola with rose garden, our 'secret garden' hidden away is home to a pond full of water lilies, goldfish and coy carp. A lovely place to sit and dream with a glass of wine, listening to the fountain and surrounded by beautiful scents.
