Set within 4 hectares close to the Morvan Natural Park, between the Roman town of Autun and walled town of Beaune, Chateau de Fretoy offers opportunities to explore the historic Côte-d'Or wine region's vineyards and historical sites. Hikers can walk from the door to vista points taking in the fabulous scenery of this popular area. South facing Chateau de Fretoy has views facing on to the surrounding hills and farms from its light and airy accommodation with floor to ceiling windows, original French doors and wooden floors. The grand entrance hall offers access to the 3 spacious living areas and children's room. The choice of places for guests to socialise is great for large gatherings and any of the rooms would make the perfect spot to relax after a busy day exploring or not so busy day by the pool. On the ground floor is a large orangery with open fireplace, a lovely space used as a dining room with seating for 42 and connected to a large semi-professional kitchen. Geert the owner can arrange for outside caterers to come in and cook up a feast for a special celebration and continental breakfast is available upon request. The 12 chateau bedrooms with more lovely features are tastefully decorated. The same is true of the Coach House quarters, offering a range of room sizes and types for convenience. The suites have bathrooms en suite and balconies. There is no shortage of outdoor relaxation at Chateau de Fretoy and the fenced Roman style accessible pool is an obvious favourite for all guests who will also enjoy the sun terrace seating. Further opportunities for recreation on site include the full sized tennis court, table tennis, baby foot, trampoline for children, a fishing pond, terraces and an outdoor Jacuzzi.
