The beautiful town of Sarlat la Canéda is 20 km away, with many castles and beautiful villages and gardens less than 15 minute drive, including Château de Beynac, Marqueyssac Gardens, Château de Campagne, Gouffre de Proumeyssac, Château des Milandes (last home of Josephine Baker), Château de Castelnaud, Eyrignac Gardens, La Roque Gageac, Les Eyzies, Domme. The Dordogne is said to have 1000 castles, from magnificent fortresses dating from the 14th century to fairy tale country estates.
