An award winning, eco-friendly, residential youth centre – an inspirational space where young people can share and explore without the usual distractions and labels, encouraging teamwork, reflection and personal development. A popular choice for primary schools and youth groups looking for a unique and memorable residential experience, with many returning year after year.

Set in a spectacular location, with stunning views across the Great Ouse valley, Chellington is only 30 minutes from the M1 and A1 motorways but a world apart.

Inside you’ll find accommodation for up to 36 in this incredible 12th century church, converted and extended with conference/activity hall, 7 dormitory bunk rooms, modern kitchen for self-catering, showers + toilets, 2 large break-out training/social rooms.

Outside, we offer camping for a further 36 in our brand new sole-use camping zone, complete with modern showers/toilets in the Herald Building (13 Vaude tents and camping mats to hire if needed). Enjoy the camp fire and barbeque, make use of the multi-purpose playing field and delight in the views with 360 degree horizons and no immediate neighbours. Immediate access to walks and the dramatic rural landscape, overlooking valley and Great Ouse river.

Groups have exclusive use of the Centre which features:

– 6 bunkrooms (26 comfortable bunk beds)

– A separate Youth leaders/Teachers room 4 bunk beds or twin or single if preferred.

– Additional leader room with 6 sofa beds for use with larger groups

– Camping option available for up to 36 additional people and new camping building (with tent and mat hire on request)

– Large hall allows flexible-use for fun, food or community time

– Ibbett and Winnie Hall learning/lounge/play rooms

– Fully equipped commercial kitchen for self-catering (supermarkets can deliver) or catered by arrangement

– Modern bathrooms

– Gardens with barbecue, campfire and picnic areas

– Rounders/football pitch with sun and rain shelter

Activities available by arrangement including canoeing, archery, paddle sports, wall climbing, high ropes – please note additional charges will apply.

We also have free educational quiz packs available for KS 3-6, also including mapped walking routes, and plant, animal and bird identification sheets to visit the award winning Harold Odell Country Park (involves walking over a bridge/river – activities available include bird and animal id quizzes, pond dipping, hedge laying, and willow crafts. Low cost ranger-led arranged by request.

## Facilities

- **Dog Friendly:** Sorry we do not accommodate any pets (guide dogs for blind excepted).
- **Accessibility:** 2 accessible toilet/shower rooms (no hoist) ground floor (near to bedroom 7). and camping building (both wide no-step doors). Parking.
- **WiFi:** Free wireless internet and WiFi, multiple USB charge points.
Payphone. Good mobile signals. More media on request (see above).
- **Kitchen:** Modern, with 6 hob/ double oven cooker, microwave, large fridges, freezer, hot cupboard, fast wash sanitiser, toaster, pots, pans, crockery + cutlery.
- **Dining Room:** Hirers can use part of the main activity hall to dine, as standard, 36 chairs,16 tables for dining. Separate breakout rooms can also be used flexibly.
- **Sitting Room:** A semi-circular lounge room has lounge seating for 12 to 20+. Panoramic views over the Ouse Valley and lakes. 55in fibre flatscreen ('Media' to hire).
- **TV and Music Facilities:** Audio/visual (to hire) includes: new pa system, 55" internet-linked flatscreen, karaoke, cinema, keyboard etc. Free WiFi.
- **Games Room:** Main hall and 2 separate smaller activity rooms for flexible space for indoor activities. Free table football/tennis (also large games pack to hire).
- **Heating and Open Fires:** Modern underfloor heating over a new limestone floor delivers comfort to all areas year-round. Outdoor firepit, bring own kindle and logs.
- **Bedrooms:** Set between original pillars in main hall, dorm rooms with bunk beds. Each sleeps 4 or 5. Separate Leaders room. 30 in total. Sofa beds for 6.
- **Linen:** Full linen package hire available by advance request (£8 per person per visit), or bring your own sleeping bag/duvet etc. Towels to hire (£5).
- **Bathrooms:** Main building, male/female 7 toilets, 6 shower cubicles , new camping building (Youth groups only) has 4 shower cubicles + toilets.
- **Children's Facilities:** Designed for children/youth groups. Whole site ideal. Free table tennis + table football. Rounders/football pitch. Please note no cots/baby change.
- **Outdoor:** Open gardens with views over Ouse Valley lakes and river. Barbecue and camp fire circle for up to 30 seating. Wild walks from front door. Games field.
- **Swimming Pool:** Wild swimming in Great Ouse adjacent to Centre or from nearby Felmersham jetty.
- **Parking:** Plenty of free parking for up to 30 cars, mini buses and large triple axel coach to enter and turn.
- **Smoking:** Strictly no smoking on site except at evacuation assembly point (nice views but away from the main building).
