A stay at Clarence House offers an easy blend of comfort, character and coastal adventure, ideal for gatherings of family and friends across generations. Set on the peaceful Isle of Wight in the heart of Shanklin, guests can slow down and reconnect while enjoying elegant interiors that honour the heritage of the house with a fresh, modern feel in a choice of 3 comfortable apartments.

Alexandra sleeps 6
Victoria sleeps 4 (sofa bed available) with a large social space
Cottage sleeps 2 (sofa bed available)

Victoria and Alexandra are adjoining apartments with doors opening onto the garden, great for inside or outside communal dining. The Cottage provides a quieter space with a private decking area particularly suitable for moments away from the main party.

Enjoy the morning light flooding the apartments via the large sash windows and the promise of the sea air. The apartments are well equipped, and a group of 10 can gather in Victoria to share meals and relax. The house layout and flexible bedroom configuration allow for both togetherness and privacy, making it easy for everyone to feel at home with different spaces for spreading out.

From Autumn 2026 Clarence House will also be available following refurbishment works - 5 bedrooms sleeping up to 12, each with a fridge, coffee machine and TV. Plenty of shared social spaces and a pretty garden complete the picture.

A short stroll from the apartments leads to the lush gorge at Shanklin Chine and the charm of Old Shanklin Village, where thatched cottages and tearooms create a timeless seaside atmosphere. Safe sandy beaches invite relaxed days by the water, paddling, picnics and simple fun together. For walkers and outdoor enthusiasts, the surrounding coastal paths and downs offer sweeping views and invigorating routes. 

Beyond Shanklin the island opens up, with a great choice for memorable day trips: to Ventnor for its quirky charm, The Needles for dramatic coastal scenery, Cowes for maritime heritage, Blackgang Chine for family adventure, and the harbour town of Yarmouth. Each outing adds another layer to a shared holiday story.

Arriving is effortless, with Shanklin railway station just a short walk away and regular connections across the island. It's quicker to use public transport on the Isle of Wight than a car.
