Family and friends focused accommodation, offered with exclusive use of the whole house. Self-catering and catered options available.

We do not accept Stag or Hen parties.

Cliffe House is a Grade II listed Victorian house that is available for hire every weekend throughout the year. It is the ideal base for cyclists, walkers, explorers, nature lovers, family and friends gatherings or even group reunions.

The house can accommodate up to 77 guests and offers versatile packages to group bookings. Our facilities are perfect for groups with children and our stunning woodland adventure playground really sets us apart from your average outdoor centre. Positioned between Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester, Cliffe House is easily accessed by the M1 and M62 motorways.

The stunning countryside around us, including the Peak District National Park, provides miles of road and off-road cycling tracks - the now infamous Holme Moss climb is just a short ride away. Other nearby adventurous activities include climbing, fell running, canoeing, sailing, caving and shooting.

If your group is interested in any on-site activities such as archery, climbing tower, bushcraft or buggy-building, please do get in touch - we may be able to offer these at certain times.

Facilities

Self-catering and catered options available, contact us for further information. Our kitchen holds a current 5-Star food hygiene rating.
Framed by full length windows with exquisite stained glass, seating up to a max of 60 people. The Boardroom and lounge also have tables for 12 and 6.
The Lounge has 2 luxurious Chesterfield sofas, coffee table and small dining table with 6 chairs. The Billiards Room and Boardroom are also available.
The Lounge, Boardroom and Billiards room have large wall mounted screens to connect personal devices to for TV. Radio in Butler's Pantry. DVD Player.
WiFi connectivity is available throughout the house. Guests are to create an account to gain access to the WiFi.
We have a basement games room, including table football, small snooker table, board games. Outside, there is an adventure playground.
Central heating throughout the house. All our fireplaces have been decommissioned and are capped off.
GF: Disability Suite - 2 guests. 1st flr: 5 bedrooms 44 guests. 2nd flr: 5 bedrooms 31 guests. Mostly bunks, some singles. Please call to discuss.
Duvets and duvet covers, pillows and pillowcases, bedsheet included. Please note towels are not provided.
Ground floor: 2 toilets, full disability showering facilities and hoists. 1st floor: 3 toilets, 3 showers. 2nd floor: 2 toilets, 3 showers.
Disability suite / carers room with 2 beds, one of which is a profiling bed. Bathroom equipped with hoist. Ramp access.
Perfect for children - lots to explore and do. Our woodland adventure playground is challenging and adult supervision is advised.
Mature gardens, lawn, woodland walks, pond with viewing platforms, nature trail, willow tunnel, den building, adventure playground, outdoor seating.
Nearest pool is a 3-mile drive for private pool hire (Inkerman House). Public swimming just under 5 miles away in Holmfirth and Scissett.
Car parking for up to 40 cars.
A no smoking policy exists throughout whole of the building and across the site. This also includes E-cigarettes.
Service dogs welcome.

We are located in the village of Shepley, 15 minutes from Huddersfield town centre, within easy reach of 'Summer Wine' country (Holmfirth). Only 15 mins drive from Junction 37 of the M1.
Holmfirth or Huddersfield.
Co-op in Shepley, which is walking distance away.
Sovereign, Black Bull, Chamberlains Coffee Shop all within easy walking distance.

Off-Peak 1-night stay £1200 (up to 40 guests).
Peak 1-night stay £1500 (up to 40 guests).
Additional guests above 40 @ £10 per person. Excludes any catering provision.
Deposit 50% at time of booking. Balance due 2 weeks before arrival date.
