A massive oak table seats up to 16 people, with 2 open plan kitchen/sitting rooms with blazing woodburners. Outdoors is a stone barbecue, a large table, and a giant stone horseshoe seat with views to the hills. The house sleeps 12 people, or max 16 by using two guest beds (2'6 wide) when a sliding partition is opened between the twin and bunk room (whole new room sleeps 6, limited floor space) and 2 sofa beds are used in the open-plan sitting room/kitchens. The bunks are sturdy and fine for adults.  The games room, in another building, has table football, air hockey, chess, pool table and table tennis. With its own glowing woodburner, it converts to a cosy mini-cinema. Surround sound in the cinema and for films in the house adds to the luxury.  Another building has washing and drying facilities and storage for bicycles. There's an electric car charger. Guests can be met to explain the foibles of the house and then left in complete peace or can enjoy activities next door such as llama feeding/walking, collecting eggs and picking fruit and vegetables in season. Alan offers motorcycle sidecar trips to anyone enthusiastic (also drum/guitar sessions). Attractions include The Chocolate Factory, Mabie Farm Park, Cream O' Galloway ice cream makers and the many beaches (40 mins drive away) and castles. The garden has some steep slopes and drops so supervision of young children is needed. Explore Galloway's stunning countryside, still relatively undiscovered by tourists - hills, lochs, rivers, woodland & stunning coastline. Watch wildlife, including red squirrels, otters, deer and red kites. Seek out Henry Moore statues on the Glenkiln Statue trail. Try out the famous 7-stanes mountain bike trails, have a scenic game of golf or enjoy a hilarious water sport or bubble football match at Galloway Activity Centre. Castle Douglas, 5 miles away, The Food Town has many independent shops and 3 supermarkets.
