The three most popular features with groups are: - the huge function room ideal with large dinners, gatherings and activities - the cosy living room with guitars and a stove - the spectacular location ideal for activities ranging from outdoor pursuits to Nessie-spotting, castle-hopping to whisky tasting (we have contacts and information to help with all of these!). We are well equipped to host families with young children (and the location is very safe for giving children freedom to roam), but equally well situated to host adult groups including stag dos and hen dos looking for a rural retreat within walking distance of a pub or two and with plenty of options for varied activities. We also host a large number of hiking clubs, university sports clubs and school groups. From April to September Coiltie Farmhouse functions as Loch Ness Backpackers, open to individuals and to groups (but no exclusive use). From October to March, the hostel closes and this holiday house near Loch Ness is available for exclusive use. The main house can be rented on its own, then you can add on the 18-bed Barn on a room by room basis up to a maximum of 41 people in total. This flexibility is ideal for those groups who don't know how many people they have but want room to grow if necessary. The bedrooms are as follows: In the House: 1 x twin room (with bunk beds) 1 x family room for 4 (with a double and bunks) 1 x family room for 5 (with a double, bunks and a single) 2 x 6-bed bunk rooms In the Barn: 1 x double room 1 x 4-bed room (with bunks) 2 x 6-bed rooms (with bunks) Drumnadrochit, the village in which the property is situated, is a hugely popular tourist destination in the summer months, and a quieter, relaxed and friendly place to spend time in the winter months surrounded by spectacular scenery and lots of opportunities to explore - and very close to spectacular Loch Ness. ## Facilities - **Dog Friendly:** Pets are permitted in all uncarpeted areas, which means the only places dogs can't go is the family bedroom and the living room. Everywhere else fine. - **Accessibility:** As an 18th-century farmhouse, the building is unfortunately not terribly accessible. Please contact us to discuss specific needs. - **WiFi:** Good WiFi, good mobile reception. - **Kitchen:** Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you should need. Oven, grill, 4 cooker rings, microwave, filter coffee machine, kettle, 2 toasters. - **Dining Room:** When the hostel is open, it's a bar; for exclusive use it's a function room and dining room in one. Perfect for big groups. Seats up to 45. - **Sitting Room:** Cosy sitting room with stove. - **TV and Music Facilities:** Great sound system in the function room, plus a projector and giant screen. Great for watching films, sharing slideshows, or dancing into the night! - **Games Room:** Games chest in the bar containing something for all ages. - **Heating and Open Fires:** There's a coal-and-wood-burning stove in the living room. All other rooms are heated with modern electric radiators. - **Bedrooms:** The bedrooms are a mix of sizes, so there's something for everyone. Some bunk rooms, doubles and twins. - **Linen:** All linens and towels are provided. - **Bathrooms:** All bedrooms access shared bathrooms, except the 4-bed and one double room, which are en suite. Shared facilities: 5 toilets, 4 showers, 6 basins. - **Children's Facilities:** Travel cot, high chair, baby monitor, toys and kids books available. We can recommend fab local babysitters too as we have kids ourselves. - **Outdoor:** Barbecue, 4 large picnic tables, and right next to a lovely quiet park and a kids play area. - **Parking:** Private parking for 10 cars, and more space 250m down the road.
