The Comb, Bellingham, Northumberland

The Comb is a converted traditional stone border farm in the heart of rural Northumberland that comfortably sleeps 20 with 60 acres of its own grounds. It is set in the heart of the largest dark sky park in Europe with orange sunsets under spectacular stars in the last true wilderness in England.

An ideal location for a family celebration or a break with friends and/or family to explore Northumberland. Surrounded on 3 sides by Kielder Forest and bordered to the south by the National Park with views in every direction.

The Comb sleeps 20 in 10 bedrooms, all of which are spacious, with en suite bathrooms and views of the grounds and surrounding country. 6 of the bedrooms have French doors while 5 have balconies.

A large bar/lounge is ideal for parties and celebrations with comfortable social seating, French doors to a terrace and a bar complete with a large drinks fridge. The dining room has plenty of atmosphere, with an exposed stone wall and original wooden roof beams, and can sit up to 30 for dining. There is also a comfortable TV lounge with a satellite connected, wall mounted large TV.

The country kitchen is fully equipped allowing capacity to easily cater for 20 or more. This includes a large range with gas hobs and 2 electric ovens, fridge/freezer, built-in oven and microwave, 2 dishwashers, walk-in larder plus all cooking pots, crockery, utensils, cutlery, glasses. The snug is adjacent to the kitchen with a table surrounded by fitted seating and a log burning stove, ideal for casual dining.

The grounds include a clay pigeon shoot, mature woods, 2 border burns and large lawns around the main building. The buildings are arranged around a courtyard and as well as the bar terrace there is also a large dark skies balcony ideal for suppers or drinks under the stars. The surrounding area offers extensive walks and bike rides with Kielder Water in the adjacent North Tyne valley.

Also available for hire for large parties or banquets, weddings and corporate events, is our dark skies barn which can seat up 250 for dining. The barn is beautifully decorated with a licensed bar, stage, dance floor, toilets and food preparation room.
