Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Coronation House, Ilfracombe, Devon, sleeps 5 - 10 in 5 bedrooms.
Ilfracombe is one of the prettiest seaside towns in North Devon. Known for its tunnels leading to secluded beaches, fishing harbour and stunning views, Ilfracombe is a great choice for 3 generation families and groups of friends for getting together for a special occasion. Coronation House is right in the heart of Ilfracombe, a Victorian property across 3 floors, renovated to create spacious and light filled living areas, retaining attractive period fireplaces as a nod to the history. It's also got fantastic outside space for dining and a secret garden with a harbour backdrop.
The modern kitchen is well equipped with a range cooker and sociable breakfast bar, perfect for a chat while preparing supper. The dining area is a lovely spot for everyone to eat together with French door access to the balcony for after dinner drinks. Relax in the lounge on squishy sofas and catch up on favourite Netflix shows. On warmer evenings, and there are many in this part of Devon, walk down the steps from the balcony to the garden and watch the sun go down. The understairs den area is a popular addition for the youngsters too. Hours of fun.
The 5 bedrooms consist of a king, 2 doubles and 2 twins, helpful for a mixed age group. All have attractive decor, modern soft furnishings and good sea or town views. One of the 2 family bathrooms has a luxurious freestanding bath and large shower cubicle.
The beauty of staying at this family holiday house in Ilfracombe is the location. It only 2 minutes to walk into town for a wander around independent shops and cafes, or 4 minutes to reach the harbour for lunch or dinner, or to watch the arrival of fishing boats or take a trip out to sea for a rib seal safari. You can also see Damien Hurst's Verity Statue, a bronze of a pregnant woman that divides opinion but is definitely worth a look. As well as being a popular wedding venue, Tunnels Beach is a must visit for building sand castles with lots of rock pools to poke around with fishing nets. The kids will love it. The sheltered cove at Combe Martin and Woolacombe blue flag beach are also within easy reach. On a rainy day there is an aquarium to visit and an array of art galleries.
