Cortijo Halima is set in a fabulous rural position in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains and accessed via a 500 m dirt track. The house is about 20 minutes away from the nearby picturesque spa town of Lanjaron which is located in an area of stunning natural beauty. 

Cortijo Halima is often used as a retreat centre because of its peaceful and secluded atmosphere and spaces for meditation/yoga and is also ideal for family holidays and friends gatherings, sleeping a total of 12 when using the bell tents too. Ideal for those who like to get off-grid and enjoy eco-friendly living. The water at the property comes from a nearby spring.

For the retreat experience, we can organise fabulous massages including reflexology, or healing sessions.

Originally a country barn, the cortijo has been converted with a hint of the Alhambra Palace, and the enticing Moorish decor of the area. The main house has an open-plan kitchen and living room and then stairs to go to the first floor where there is a bathroom and three bedrooms, sleeping 6.

Arranged over four terraces under shady olive trees, there is the pool, two bell tents and the 'Orange House' which has an additional bathroom, kitchen and patio. This is a wonderful place to enjoy an evening barbecue (n.b. except in high summer months). Tables can be set up, inside and out, for the whole group of 12. At night you can hear the cicadas as you sit by the pool and have your meal. The stairs leading up have fairy lights which are reminiscent of the Elf Kingdom in Lord of the Rings (we like to think!).

In the winter you can snuggle up around the log fire in the main house.

There are plenty of walks from the property as well as horse riding nearby. The beach at Salobrena is only 25 minutes away with the fabulous city of Granada less than an hour away.
