Cote Ghyll Mill is a VisitEngland 4-star rated group accommodation in a converted linen mill, nestled in the folds of the North York Moors on the edge of the picturesque village of Osmotherley, just 15 minutes walk from the stunning Cod Beck Reservoir. The Mill is ideal for families, groups of friends, and individuals who may be walking, cycling or exploring the magnificent North York Moors National Park.

The surrounding area is famous for its walking routes, and the Mill is adjacent to the Cleveland Way, Coast to Coast and is also situated at the start of the Lyke Wake Walk. The National Cycle Network Route 65 passes by the Mill and other outdoor pursuits on our doorstep include orienteering routes, geocaching, mountain biking routes, canoeing on Cod Beck Reservoir, pony trekking and rock climbing at nearby Scugdale Crag. Whether you are on foot or on a mountain bike, set off from the Mill and choose a patch to suit you.

If you are after a thrilling, action packed weekend, why not hire an activity provider and try your hand at canoeing or raft building on Cote Ghyll Reservoir, or even abseiling or ziplining the waterfall on site.

Cote Ghyll Mill has capacity to sleep between 2-61 people throughout the 14 rooms, which sleep between 2-6 in bunk bed style accommodation. All rooms are en-suite and have private facilities. There are also 3 recently refurbished holiday apartments within the Mill, sleeping between 2-10 people.

With a licensed bar/shop, meeting room, free WiFi, secure cycle storage, games room, self-catering kitchen plus the option for a full-catered stay, what more could your group ask for? We can also provide a buffet style breakfast, packed lunches and home cooked evening meals. A fully equipped self-catering kitchen gives you the option of preparing your own food. There’s also a large private car park suitable for cars and coaches.

Located on the west side of the North Yorkshire Moors National park, 1.5 miles from the A19 dual carriageway between Thirsk and Teeside.

  • The market town of Northallerton is 6 miles away and the famous James Herriot town of Thirsk is only 10 miles away.
  • Next door, at the caravan site or in the pretty village of Osmotherley, a 10 minute walk away or approx 1/4 mile. Large supermarkets 6 miles away.
