Cote Ghyll Mill is the perfect venue for school residentials and activity days. Set in its own private woodland with a wide range of outdoor adventures and learning experiences right on the doorstep. Choose to run your own activities or hire expert activity providers to lead the way.

Outdoor learning at it’s finest:

We have a dedicated campfire, bushcrafts & shelter building area in the grounds, it’s the perfect place to introduce younger children to new outdoor experiences. If you are looking for something more adventurous try your hand at abseiling the old Mill waterfall, or a short walk from the Mill you’ll find Cod Beck reservoir – the perfect setting for a group bonding activity such as raft building or canoeing.

Excellent facilities:

As our name suggests, we’re a converted linen mill, with all the space and capacity that you would expect from a converted mill. With a newly refurbished meeting room, a self-catering kitchen for leaders use and modern 4-star en-suite rooms, teachers and group leaders will enjoy their stay as much as the youngsters! Better yet 1 leader per 10 full board guests stays completely free.

14 newly refurbished, en-suite bedrooms sleeping 56 people in bunk beds or 61 people using the five rollout beds located in the bedrooms. Want to keep the kids entertained in the evening? Ask us about arranging a disco and opening the tuck shop

All linen is provided free of charge. Towels are not supplied but can be hired for a small fee.

Bathrooms

Wash basins in all rooms. All rooms with full en suite facilities and hairdryers. Additional showers available in communal areas.

Children's Facilities

Travel cots and high chairs are available. Use of children's play area next door at our 5 star Caravan Park (by arrangement). Games area.

Outdoor

Large, tiered lawn area for games, private campfire area and shelter-building woodland adjacent to the stream. A short walk to Cod Beck Reservoir.

Swimming Pool

Large indoor swimming pool with wave machine and flumes at the local market town of Northallerton, 6 miles away.

Parking

Ample parking for cars and coaches also a secure cycle store available.

Located on the west side of the North Yorkshire Moors National park, 1.5 miles from the A19 dual carriageway between Thirsk and Teeside.

The market town of Northallerton is 6 miles away and the famous James Herriot town of Thirsk is only 10 miles away.
Next door, at the caravan site or in the pretty village of Osmotherley, a 10 minute walk away or approx 1/4 mile. Large supermarkets 6 miles away.
All meals are available at Cote Ghyll Mill (if pre-booked) or there are 3 pubs all serving food in Osmotherley village and a fish & chip shop.
Teeside Airport 12 miles.
Northallerton 6 miles, Thirsk 10 miles.
Osmotherley 1/4 mile.
