The Courtyard is located at the heart of 1000 acres of woodland, parkland, and Estate grounds that make up the beautiful Stowlangtoft Estate, conveniently located just off the A14.

A collection of four unique cottages, The Coach House, Amherst House, Symonds House, and Langetot,  make up one side of the Grade ll listed Stowlangtoft Hall Stable Courtyard. On the other side of The Courtyard, The Dark Horse offers a fabulous entertainment area where guests can gather together to dine, relax and celebrate.  

Each immaculately refurbished cottage is self-contained with fully equipped kitchens, dining area, and comfortable living area with Smart TV. Perfect for multi-generational holidays, giving guests their own space.  There are nine bedrooms, four doubles and five twin rooms, and six bathrooms. The Coach House and Amherst House are particularly well suited to families with young children.  All of the cottages are pet friendly, allowing up to two pets in each property for an additional charge.

With a stunning dining area, seating up to 35,  cosy stable seating areas, and a bar,  The Dark Horse provides a beautiful space where everyone can gather together.  The dining area overlooks The Courtyard, with French doors leading to an outside dining area.  The Dark Horse also has a fully equipped catering kitchen, so why not get caterers in to help celebrate your special event!  A list of caterers will be provided. 

Shared communal gardens are located behind The Courtyard, along with the option to add one or two hot tubs to your booking!  Leading from the communal gardens is a huge open space with children's play area and football pitch overlooking the rolling Suffolk countryside. 

If you are a larger group, further accommodation can be provided, if available, for up to 35 guests, in Stearn Cottage, and The Shooting Lodge, both of which are pet friendly.

 

 

## Facilities

- **Dog Friendly:** All cottages are pet friendly and can accommodate up to two pets on each. Additional charges apply, so please contact us for details.
- **Accessibility:** We are not equipped to accommodate disabled guests, but we will try to help where possible.
- **Hot Tub:** One or two hot tubs can be rented for a separate fee.
- **WiFi:** WiFi is available in all properties. There is also good mobile reception on some networks. Where reception is poor, WiFi calling can be used.
- **Kitchen:** Each cottage has a modern, fully equipped kitchen. A commercial catering kitchen is located in The Dark Horse, a list of caterers is provided.
- **Dining Room:** Each cottage has a dining area, some open plan. The Dark Horse, seating up to 35, offers a wonderful venue for eating together and celebrations.
- **Sitting Room:** Each cottage has comfortable and stylish living areas. The Dark Horse has two stable seating areas either side of the stable bar area.
- **TV and Music Facilities:** There are smart TVs in each cottage, and a selection of books, and games are provided in all properties.
- **Games Room:** We do not have a games room. However, there is a large outside space with children's play area, and football pitch. Some outdoor games are provided.
- **Heating and Open Fires:** All cottages have a log burner or open fire, with the exception of Amherst House. A basket of logs is provided, in season, for each fire.
- **Bedrooms:** All of the bedrooms are comfortable and well furnished. Please refer to our website for more details about the bedrooms in each cottage.
- **Linen:** All linens and towels are included in the cost of your holiday.
- **Bathrooms:** Some cottages offer family bathrooms, others en-suite bathrooms. Please refer to our website for more detailed information.
- **Children's Facilities:** Cots, high chairs and toddler crocks & cutlery can be arranged if required. In addition, we have a beautiful children's play area and football pitch.
- **Outdoor:** The cottages are set in beautiful grounds. Outdoor seating and BBQs, in season, are provided.
- **Swimming Pool:** No swimming pool is provided, however, one or two hot tubs can be rented for a separate fee.
- **Parking:** Ample free off-street parking is provided.
- **Smoking:** Smoking is not permitted indoors.

## Booking Information

- Booking may start on any day of the week and there is a 2 night minimum stay. The booking deposit is 25% (min £500 for The Courtyard), with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival. A £500 damage deposit is preauthorised.

Stowlangtoft is well served with public footpaths, many of which run across the Stowlangtoft Estate.  Just over a mile away is Wyken Vineyard, with its stunning leaping Hare Restaurant, country store, and fabulous Saturday Farmer’s Market.

The thriving market town of Bury St Edmunds, is just over a 10-minute drive away.  Explore the beautiful Abbey Gardens surrounding the cathedral,  visit the market on a Wednesday or Saturday, take a tour of the Greene King Brewery, or try one of the many eateries Bury St Edmunds has to offer.

Lavenham is a 35-minute drive away, with over 300 listed buildings, and huge church tower.

Cambridge is just under an hours drive away, great for shopping or punting on the River Cam.

Southwold and Aldeburgh are located on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, and well worth a visit for those wishing to explore further afield.
