This family seaside holiday house in Portreath on the stunning north Cornwall coast is a fantastic base for exploring Cornwall’s coastlines, with lots of Blue Flag sandy beaches, surfing, delightful hidden coves and safe swimming.
Previously a fisherman’s cottage, The Cove is now contemporary spacious holiday accommodation, perfect for a multi generation family holiday by the sea or friends getting together to celebrate a special occasion. The Cove welcomes a well behaved dog.
The kitchen diner is a lovely sociable room for cooking and eating together. Pick up some fresh fish from the local Portreath fishermen down at the harbour and treat yourselves to a lobster or crab supper. What could be nicer than a barbecue on a sunny evening in the courtyard garden accessed from the kitchen through French doors. The lounge has plenty of comfortable squashy sofas and a Sky Glass Smart TV with streaming services.
There is a double and a twin bedroom on the ground floor, handy for anyone who can’t manage the stairs. The other 3 bedrooms are on the 1st floor and all are cool spaces with fresh white linen soft furnishings. There are 2 modern bathrooms, both with baths and separate shower cubicles across both floors.
The Cove is within easy reach of Portreath’s pubs, restaurants and cafes. Just a 5 minute stroll is the picturesque narrow harbour with shallow waters for kids to paddle and play as well as a stop off for delicious Cornish ice cream. Pick up a timetable for the many local sea fishing trips on offer or a marine safari to Seal Island and Godrevy Lighthouse. On a nice evening sit back and be entertained by live music in one of the bars or head to the iconic Minack Theatre near Penzance for a cliffside open air drama performance. Truro is a great place for historic attractions and Gothic architecture
