Broadgate House and Steading sleeps 12

Risingham House sleeps 8

This rural estate is in wild and untamed north Northumberland famed as Hadrian’s Wall country.  The estate is great for a multi generation family gathering, a friend’s reunion or a small corporate group. Hikers and cyclists will enjoy the choice of trails close by and within easy reach in the Northumberland National Park. The accommodation is dog friendly too.

These family holiday houses near Hexham offer luxury living for a group of up to 20. 19th century Broadgate House is full of period features and designed with warmth and comfort in mind. There is a spacious formal dining room, ideal for a special celebration, as well as a table and chairs in the orangery for an informal breakfast. The drawing room is an opulent space with open fire, plush velvet sofas, a large picture window with access to the terrace and elegant soft furnishings. There is a smaller sitting room with a wood burner as an alternative and handy for a mixed age group.

There's a helpful mix of beautifully decorated bedrooms with kings, superkings and twins. In Broadgate all the bedrooms have en suites, and the master bedroom has a gorgeous roll top bath and separate shower cubicle. There are king and twin bedrooms in The Steading, which is just across the garden and a popular choice for grandparents or smaller families wanting a little peace and privacy.

Risingham House, which is recently built, sits in an elevated position with views to the Cheviot Hills. Built in a traditional style, this accommodation has family in mind; the open plan kitchen with AGA, dining and sitting room with log burning stove provide for a relaxed sociable space. The property has four individually designed bedrooms; two superkings, a zip/link and a twin provide for versatility.

Outside there are extensive grounds to explore but each house has an enclosed garden with patio and seating, perfect for an evening of stargazing with a steaming hot chocolate in hand.

The estate's woodland cabin, the Quarry Bothy, can be taken in addition to the accommodation. The Bothy has recently been rebuilt and offers a unique rustic off grid experience for dining or simply relaxing with friends and family in front of the wood burning stove or lazing on the lawn gently warmed by the firepit with views to the heather clad hills.

Keen fishermen will be thrilled by the prospect of 3 private miles of the river Rede, the main tributary of the North Tyne which is arguably England’s most productive salmon fishery. This fly water can be fished for wild brown trout and salmon when the season allows.

Although there is feeling of seclusion and being off the beaten, track there are many activities and experiences available on the doorstep.

- **Heating and Open Fires:** Both houses are centrally heated. Broadgate has an open fire in the drawing room and wood burner in smaller lounge. Risingham has a wood stove.
- **Bedrooms:** Broadgate has doubles, triples, super king, twin and king. All en suite. Risingham has kings or super kings zip and link. 2 ground floor. 1 en suite.
- **Linen:** Bedding and bathroom towels are provided.
- **Bathrooms:** Broadgate and Steading have 6 en suites. Shower rooms and 1 with roll top and shower. Risingham has 1 en suite and a family shower room. WC in Bothy.
- **Children's Facilities:** Broadgate is not deemed suitable for children. Risingham is child friendly and a travel cot and 2 high chairs are available.
- **Outdoor:** Broadgate has extensive terraced gardens with outdoor seating. Risingham has an enclosed garden with al fresco dining area.

## Booking Information

- Broadgate and The Steading are not recommended for children. We are flexible on check in days but the check in time is after 4.00 pm and check out by 10.00 am.  50% of total cost is required at booking, the balance must be paid in full no later than 6 weeks before the start of the stay.  We require a £500 good housekeeping deposit.
