The wild and untamed Cragg Estate is located conveniently near to the village of West Woodburn north of Hexham. It’s only 45 minutes from Newcastle making this a fantastic corporate venue for those working in the North East to take colleagues away for team building activities and future business planning. Right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, the Cragg Estate is a great base for bonding experiences including hiking and cycling, and of course the extensive on site wild brown trout and salmon fishing opportunities. Hadrian’s Wall is only 30 minutes away but there are glimpses and remains of Roman times on the estate. Looking west from Broadgate Farmhouse is Risingham Habitancum Fort built in AD138-161 at the time of Marcus Aurelius, a supply station guarding the bridge over the river Rede.
There are catering options on offer if it’s more convenient to hire in a company to take care of all of the culinary requirements. The fully equipped kitchen at Broadgate is also well set up for self catering and a spot to make a coffee or late night snack. The formal dining room is perfect for a meeting or a presentation to the whole group and it comfortably seats 16. There are more informal places to eat in the Orangery and on the terrace, or indeed use these spaces as breakaway areas for smaller groups.
The drawing room in Broadgate is a gorgeous room, filled with elegant seating, an open fire and French door access to the terrace. It’s an excellent place to get together for down time or somewhere to continue a conversation about future projects. An alternative sitting room is available for breakout groups or a place to quietly unwind.
