This stunning tower penthouse is just a 15 minute walk from the tiny horseshoe shaped harbour of Craster, where crabs, lobsters and famed smoked Craster kippers can be found for sale at the kippering shed. Craster Tower, a listed building, blends period and modern features, with amazing views on all sides. Its history is clear and the refurbishment combines original Gothic arched windows and high ceilings with modern facilities for a comfortable stay.
Craster Tower Penthouse welcomes families, friends and couples including avid walkers and golfers, for whom there are many beaches, cliff paths and renowned golf courses to sample. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome too. The fully equipped kitchen is a great space for sharing family meals, with a table for 8. The Tower has a 1st floor sitting room with wood burner, Smart TV and relaxing sofas, plus a light-filled Gothic drawing room, with a Broadwood grand piano, at the top of the tower. The children's snug has a TV and Xbox with a selection of games and DVDs to give youngsters space of their own.
The gallery which runs the length of the Georgian part of the tower is a highlight, a wonderful place to read or chat and, with a large dining table, it is made for special occasion feasts. A top notch caterer is available for a celebration dinner. The large garden is a fun space for children to play on the trampoline or to exercise the dogs, and for a barbecue and drinks alfresco. Guests may also use the tennis court.
Bedrooms are configured for flexibility, with the master and Blue Room having an interconnecting door for young families. The Blue Room can be set up as a twin or double (zip links), thoughtful for a mixed gathering. The main bathroom has a bath with shower over, plus there are two separate shower rooms and a ground floor WC.

Dunstanburgh Castle is a popular destination for keen hikers or wildlife enthusiasts can head south to Howick for nesting kittyhawks. The children might want to explore the dinosaur footprints south of Cullernose Point or Embleton Beach, which is particularly family friendly.
