The Cumulus Outdoors Residential Centre is set in a quiet location on the outskirts of Swanage with wonderful views over the bay. There are facilities on site for a variety of adventure activities plus space for both outdoor and indoor recreation and it’s just a 10 minute walk to Swanage town centre, the beach, pier and other local amenities. The centre is ideal for groups seeking the comfort of dormitory style accommodation and on-site facilities, which together with our programme of outdoor adventure activities makes Cumulus Outdoor Residential Centre the ideal destination for a fun filled educational school residential trip on the stunning Jurassic Coast in Dorset.
As an Outdoor Adventure provider we can take you off-site to enjoy many adventure experiences; these can include Coasteering, Climbing, Kayaking, Paddle-boarding, Bushcraft, AeroBall, Tag Archery, Air Rifle Shooting and more! Most adventure activities take place at amazing locations which can include Swanage town and beach, Dancing Ledge, Dorset Waterpark, Durlston Country Park, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Corfe Castle and Studland beach.
The centre has 4 separate dormitories which are assigned based on your group number. Each has a small kitchenette (microwave, toaster and kettle) and lounge area for leaders plus its own recreational area.
Studland Building – Sleeps up to 47 across 12 en suite bedrooms
Durlston Building – Sleeps up to 44 across 5 bedrooms (18, 18, 2, 2, 4). The 2 large bunk rooms have a toilet and shower room each, the 3 smaller rooms are en suite
Peveril Building – Sleeps up to 32 across 10 en suite bedrooms
Bungalow – Sleeps up to 16 across 4 bedrooms (6, 6, 2, 2), 3 toilet/ shower rooms
On site catering facilities include a large dining room that sits up to 72 at one time. Full catering can be provided on request, please note self-catering is only available in the bungalow
There is also a classroom on site to enable more educational elements to be included if required.

A TV is located within each of the recreation areas as well as Bluetooth Speakers to connect music.

Each building has a recreation room a pool table, table tennis, air hockey and table football. Also sofas and a TV.

Heating and Open Fires

Central heating in all buildings. Studland boasts underfloor heating also!

Bedrooms

31 in total spread over 4 buildings. Dorms of various sizes. Some rooms en suite.

Linen

Linen is provided, but please bring your own towels.

Bathrooms

Peveril and Studland are en suite rooms. Durlston and the Bungalow have separate shower and toilet facilities.

Children's Facilities

Cots and high chairs available.

Outdoor

Outdoor areas include football pitch and kids playground area.

Swimming Pool

There is no pool on site, but there is one a 5 minute walk away.

Parking

Private parking. 2 coach spaces and turning circles. Ample parking for cars and mini buses.

Located in Swanage, in the Isle of Purbeck. Just a 30 minute drive from Bournemouth, Swanage is a small seaside town on the Jurassic Coast. Our accommodation overlooks the town and bay.

Swanage - 10 minute walk, 0.5 miles.
Spar - 2 minute walk, 250 yards. Or a large Co-op a 5 minute drive away in town.
The Black Swan - 2 minute walk, 250 yards. Plenty of other nearby pubs and restaurants within town.
Bournemouth Airport - 1 hour drive, 30 miles.
Swanage Station - 10 minute walk, 0.5 miles.
