Dalehead Bunkhouse, Edale Valley, Derbyshire, Peak District , sleeps 14-20 in 3 bedrooms.
The property is owned by the National Trust. It is a self-catering bunkhouse and sleeps a maximum of 20 people. It has electric storage heaters and a large open coal fire in the lounge. It also has a separate large room which can be used for educational or team building purposes or as a dining room. It has a fully equipped kitchen with freezer, refrigerator and large range. There is ample car parking space and BBQ area to the rear of the building. Dalehead's location in the Edale Valley is a perfect base for educational trips, field trips for example to visit Castleton's caves eg Blue John cavern or for general outdoor activities such as hiking, walking or cycling. We also have a Learning Officer who works in the area who may be able to work with some school groups on various projects.
Self-catering kitchen with large 6 burner gas hob and oven range - kitchen utensils are provided.
2 large extendible solid oak dining tables with 20 solid oak dining chairs as well as the payphone and additional sofas.
Sitting room with comfortable seating and wood burner.
None, enjoy the quiet.
There is a payphone available in the dining room as there is no mobile phone signal close to the bunkhouse.
There is no specific games room provided.
Infra-red heating system Radiaotors throughour heated via wood burner in the sitting room.
Three dorms: 1) 3 bunk beds (6 sleeping) 2) 4 bunk beds (8 sleeping) 3) 6 as singles or used to make doubles
Please bring sleeping bags/bed linen, pillows, towels.
Moern toilet and bathroom facilities. One bathroom is downstairs and one is upstairs with washbasins and one electric heated shower in each.
Due to the nature of the building and available access, unfortunately we cannot cater for wheelchair users or visitors with limited mobility.
The third dorm is a family room with 3 large bean bags.
There is a garden area to rear with picnic tables & BBQ. A stream runs past the back of the cottage and sheep graze all around in the adjacent field.
There is ample parking and turning space.
No smoking is allowed anywhere in the bunkhouse.
Pets are welcome, £15 extra per pet per stay - however please do not allow any upstairs.
The dazzling and diverse scenery of the Peak District and Derbyshire makes it a paradise for walking, family cycling, mountain biking and adventure.
Edale / Castleton / Hope.
Small shop in Edale, larger shops in nearby Hope and Castleton as well - further details given on noticeboard in bunkhouse.
