This converted 1970s chapel conversion is a fantastic family holiday house near Port Talbot in south Wales, perfect for multi generation families, friends, stags, hens, walkers and cyclists. Located in the village of Cwmavon, Depot Rd is a great base for outdoor enthusiasts looking to discover and explore the wonderful mountain and forest terrain of the area, with world class trails and routes. The house is dog friendly too, welcoming up to 4 dogs.
Open plan living allows for a sociable stay, with a fully equipped kitchen and inside dining for all guests. The lounge has an L-shaped sofa, made for catching up and watching a movie together on the 50" Smart TV, and there's lots of modern wall art to add to the contemporary feel. The spacious entrance hall has an air hockey table too. If the weather is good, the enclosed rear garden and internal courtyard is great for a barbecue and evening drinks under the stars. The owners have thought about the requirements of a group of active guests, offering a laundry and drying room for wet and muddy kit as well as storage for 12 bikes.
The 3 bedrooms work well for a mixed gathering, comprising twins or kings using zip and links plus bunk beds, just the job for young families or couples. The accommodation is all on the ground floor level making it easier for anyone in the party who finds lots of stairs a challenge. Walk in showers are easily accessible and there is an extra WC. Sliding doors lead to the outside enclosed garden from each bedroom, letting natural light flood in but with black out blinds for comfort.
Afan Forest Park is close to Depot Rd, a magnet for mountain bikers looking for a proper adrenaline-fuelled experience. Aberavon Beach and the Wales Coastal Path is a short drive away for a sandy beach day and good dog walks. The Gower is slightly further afield for fabulous beaches at Three Cliffs and Oxwich. The Vale of Neath is waiting to be discovered, offering amazing waterfalls including Sgwd Gwladys and Sgwd Yr Eira. Prepare to be impressed. Margam and Bryngarw Country Parks are also within easy reach, with acres of woodland, ponds and parkland. And there's a couple of pubs within walking distance too.
