Derwent House is ideal for up to 12 guests. The layout of the house allows for socialising together, while providing space for all in the varied living rooms. The house is ideal for extended family groups, friendship groups and gatherings for special occasions.
Derwent House is available for short breaks and longer stays throughout the year. Our aim is to provide a welcoming place to stay, with high quality furnishings and well-equipped to meet the needs of large groups. All our prices are fully inclusive. Breakfast can be provided if required.
Within short driving distances are attractions to suit all tastes: walking and climbing throughout the Peak District, historic towns and villages including Bakewell and Buxton, historic houses such as Chatsworth, Alton Towers and much more.
The ground floor of Derwent House has 2 lounges, a Georgian style dining room ideal for a special occasion, a large well-equipped kitchen with additional dining seating and a utility room. The kitchen has ample cooking facilities for large groups including 2 ovens, 7 gas burners and a large fridge. The utility room houses laundry facilities.
The stairs, with original Georgian balustrade, lead to the first floor on which 4 of the bedrooms are situated. The king-size master bedroom has an original Georgian fireplace. Opposite is a twin room with views over Knowleston gardens and an en suite shower room. Towards the back of the house are 2 further double en suite bedrooms. The large Victorian-style panelled bathroom with free standing bath with hand held shower is on this floor.
On the second floor are 2 further bedrooms, a large twin with views over Knowleston Gardens, and a double room with en suite shower room.
Outside is a courtyard area with ample seating for guests which provides a place to sit and relax during the day or for an early evening drink. The house faces onto Knowleston Gardens and is next to the award winning Hall Leys Park, with boating lake, play area, cafe and other facilities.
