The 4 barns can be booked individually or as a group and are an ideal venue for couples, friends, families, or any group get together.

The Long Hall (dines 22+) is a function space which can be hired for group dining or celebrating. Priced separately - please contact us for pricing on the Sack Store and Long Hall.

Please note - if a group booking is made for more than 12 persons, than the Long Hall is required for group socialising and dining facilities. Contact us. It is an underfloor heated space with all the tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery , glasses etc needed for group dining 12-22 persons.

The Dovecote Barns York is the perfect eco luxury getaway. This multi award winning accommodation offers year round weekly, weekend and mid-week luxury holiday breaks in converted 18th century barns.

With all en suite bedrooms (11 luxury bedrooms in total, with individually designed wet rooms or bath/shower rooms), this venue is particularly suitable for any group that wish to get ready for an event such as a wedding, horse races or for special celebrations.

The smallest barn (sleeping 2) is wheelchair accessible, fully ramped and has a large roll in level shower wet room.

A country retreat adjacent to open countryside and the river Ouse - ideal for exploring the peaceful countryside, relaxing indoors by the log stove, heading into the city for some retail therapy or delving into York's rich history. A direct bus route operates to York city centre and takes a half hour and there's a "Park and Ride" service from the nearby designer outlet.

Local pubs and restaurants serving traditional English fayre, Italian and Thai cuisine.

Easy access to York Races via the A64 takes 20 minutes by car.

Dog Friendly

One small dog is permitted in The Irishman's Cottage and The Dovecote. Subject to conditions/extra cost. Dogs are permitted inside the Long Hall.

The Irishman's Cottage is rated M3A accessible. The Long Hall has a fully accessible toilet. Contact us re cottage shower grab rails/transfer rails.

Fibre high speed broadband and WiFi free throughout all barns.

Kitchen

Professional cookware and knives. Fully equipped kitchen for special celebrations. Granite work surfaces and handmade painted kitchens. Smeg fridges.

Dining Room

Large oak dining table in the Hay Barn can seat 12 people. Grand Barn can seat 10 people. Long Hall can seat 56 people rented separately for guests.

Sitting Room

Each sitting room has comfy sofas, quality rugs, soft lighting and log fire stoves with supply of logs and kindling.

TV and Music Facilities

Each barn offers Smart TV, bluetooth speaker, iPod docking station with CD/Radio. DVD player and DVD library. Fibre high speed broadband, WiFi free.

Games Room

The games room has a pool table and darts board. If the Long Hall is rented, a table tennis table can be set up for use during the guests stay.

Heating and Open Fires

Underfloor heating throughout. In addition, log fires in each barn living area. Free supply of logs provided.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms either 6ft zip-link superking/twin or king beds with luxury Yorkshire mattresses. Quality bedroom matching soft furnishings and fittings.

Linen

All linen and towels provided. 100% Egyptian cotton crisp bedding. Fluffy white bath sheets, hand towels, facecloths. Kitchen cloths/towels provided.

Bathrooms

11 en-suite bedrooms. Each ensuite is either a shower wet room or bath/shower room. Heated towel rails. Separate WC facilities also in larger barns.

Children's Facilities

Children under the age of 16 must be supervised in the games room by a parent. There are cots, highchairs, stairgate subject to availability.

Outdoor

Outdoor private patio/garden areas. Barbecues. Large patio area with grass outside of the Long Hall function room.

Swimming Pool

There is no pool.

Parking

Plenty of off road private parking for guests.

Smoking

Ashtrays can be provided for smoking outdoors only as there is no smoking inside the properties.

Electric Vehicle Charging

We have a charging point at the barns and only charge the same per Kwh charge as costs us by Green Energy, our supplier using 100% renewable energy.

We offer short breaks most of the year. Our changeover days are Fridays and Mondays. We ask for a £500 damage deposit.

The Dovecote Barns is located on the edge of a rural village, adjacent to open farmland and the River Ouse. 25 mins by car to York city centre parking.

Village pub or walk along riverbank to 17th century Inn serving food all day. The Long Hall is fully licensed and can be hired for an event for those staying on site.
Leeds Bradford airport is 50 mins drive by car. Doncaster Sheffield is 45 mins drive by car.
Selby train station is 15 mins drive. York train station is 20-25 mins drive depending on traffic. Both York and Selby operate direct 2 hr London trip.
50 yds. Public bus service direct to York city centre. Takes approx 30 mins. Also Park&Ride 10 mins.
