## About The Property

Experience an authentic taste of 19th Century Ireland in this fine 11 bed Tudor-Gothic manor house near Kilkenny. The house, which combines traditional and modern interior design, has been faithfully restored by the current owners over the past 30 years. It features some fantastic reception rooms, as well as 9 bedrooms, a cinema and games room, and a heated indoor swimming pool with changing room and shower facilities - perfect for a family reunion or a get-together with friends.

The property, which is 9km from the M9 motorway and just over 1 hour's drive from Dublin airport, is set in 9 acres of grounds, including formal pleasure gardens, a walled garden and parkland.

Dunleckney Manor is a great base for exploring popular attractions in Kilkenny city as well as sights such as Altamont Gardens, Dunmore Caves and Jerpoint Abbey. Coarse and fly fishing, and some of Ireland's top golf courses and horse racing venues are also within 5 to 45 minutes drive of the house. One of Ireland's newest whiskey producers - Walsh Whiskey Distillery - is 10 minutes drive away, in Royal Oak.

The manor house, which dates from the 1830s, was designed by the English architect Daniel Robertson, who also designed Powerscourt Garden in Co Wicklow (voted the world's 3rd best garden by National Geographic). The first manor was built on the site in the early 1600s by the Bagenal family. The founder of the Irish branch of the family, Sir Nicholas Bagenal, was Commander of the English army in Ireland for Elizabeth I. All that remains of that building is the walled garden and the wing of the house that contains the kitchen and Yew family suite.

Please note - the property can not be used for parties or events.
