This stretch of the Northumberland coast offers a wealth of fantastic beaches and historical sites, as well as the beautiful Coastal Path - a fantastic setting for a holiday with family and friends.

Dunstan Hall is an impressive holiday house, dating back to the 14th century with an incredible Pele tower originally rebuilt as a watchtower for nearby Dunstanburgh Castle. Filled with period features and oozing history, the house is also a comfortable place to stay, with modern conveniences. Small corporate groups and special interest groups such as walkers and golfers will also find this to be an excellent base.

The entrance hall has an impressive 15th century fireplace, a welcoming space setting the tone for the house. Reception rooms include a dining room with striking fabric wall coverings and stone fireplace, a Jacobean hand carved fireplace sits in a light-filled drawing room and a further reception has a grand piano for any musical guests. The traditional farmhouse kitchen is well set up for preparing group meals and the breakfast room handy for informal eating. For a family dinner, settle down at the formal 14ft long oak refectory table for 18 to catch up on news over great food and a few drinks.

A small sitting room in the tower, and 25 feet games room, means space for the younger family members to gather for an evening of games. Outside there's a large lawned area for a kick about, and walled gardens for quiet relaxation in a wonderfully tranquil setting.

The 10 bedrooms are configured flexibly for a larger group, offering kings, twins, bunks and singles and located across the 1st and 2nd floors. Luxurious king bedrooms have large picture windows, shiny wooden floors and pretty soft furnishings, while the twins are cosy spaces, including one in the tower reached via a Tudor stone staircase.

Enjoy family days out with Embleton Beach and Dunstanburgh Castle close by. Walk into Craster for a pub lunch and to pick up some kippers for breakfast, or visit Holy Island or The Farne Islands, heaving with wildlife.
