East Barnby Outdoor Education Centre, Whitby, Yorkshire

Nestled on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and close to the Yorkshire Coast, East Barnby is the ideal setting for retreats, conferences, field studies or adventure holidays.

With a large site and range of facilities we are set up to accommodate groups of all ages. East Barnby is ideal for school/youth groups both large and small as well as for adults looking for a conference venue, quiet retreat or holiday base.

We have 6 comfortable and centrally heated dormitories which are all regularly refurbished and updated. You will also have access to a drying room as well as all the facilities available in the main block. For those preferring to self-cater we have a large kitchen that you can arrange to use (subject to availability).

As an Outdoor Education Centre our highly experienced and qualified staff are able to provide a wide variety of education and adventure courses for those who fancy a bit of outdoor excitement!

Our excellent resources and experienced teachers are crucial to the way in which we work. We aim to provide a differentiated programme, planned before your visit, which will provide active and inspirational learning opportunities for all who attend the Centre or use our Outreach facilities.

East Barnby has numerous resources available on site for our visiting groups to use. Within the grounds we have a football field and tennis / basketball court which can be used at any time. Please note that it is intended that these facilities are used under the supervision / approval of visiting staff members.
