The medieval buildings were rebuilt in the 18th century to create a house for the landed gentry and it definitely does not disappoint. The property oozes style, comfort and chic, with open plan living spaces perfect for those who want to be together. And then there is the impressive cinema room, games room and snug, lovely for family fun or some quiet time.
The kitchen at Edgar House is well set up for self catering with equipment for maximum convenience. Alternatively ask the House Manager about hiring in a private chef to cook for a special occasion. Enjoy eating together in the main dining room or outside on the river view patio. Huge picture windows in the drawing room allow the light to flood in during the day or by night close the shutters and cosy up to the open fire. The walled garden has created a superb space for guests to take in the gorgeous river and bridge views and the patio has become a prime spot for watching the world go by.
The 7 bedrooms are individually designed as thoroughly indulgent places to retire to at the end of a long day. The combination of superkings or ziplinks makes it possible to configure them to suit. 2 bedrooms on the ground floor are handy for multi generational families or anyone less mobile. 2 upstairs rooms have balcony access with more river views and somewhere to enjoy the first cup of coffee of the day. Chester Zoo is a short drive away or further afield is a peep into Wales exploring Snowdonia and the Welsh coastline. The Wirral Peninsula is nearby and home to some world class golf courses.
