Stunning Georgian house sleeping 20 with tennis court and billiard room, ideal for celebrations in the Pennines

Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Eggleston Hall, Barnard Castle, Co Durham, sleeps 5 - 20 in 9 bedrooms.

Eggleston Hall is the perfect location for multi- generational family holidays, a friends gathering, yoga, walking holiday and is just 2.5 hours from London by train to Darlington. Take advantage of the endless things to do in the area or just enjoy the relaxing atmosphere in this rural idyll!

Downstairs there is a large front hall with oak parquet flooring and two stunning drawing rooms with open fires and river views. There's a Billiard room along with table football and table tennis. The large kitchen has a four door AGA and an adjacent dining room has seating for 20.

Upstairs are nine individually decorated bedrooms with crisp white linen for a real feeling of luxury. There are also eight bathrooms with fluffy white towels.

The Hall's gardens are open to the public, however the grounds around the house are secluded and private, solely for the use of our guests. There is an excellent seasonal cafe in the converted coach house next to the garden centre and there is free access for our guests to the commercial gardens. The house was notably the location for ITV's Ladette to Lady!

In the locale there are many attractions, The Bowes Museum, Raby Castle, High Force, Durham Cathedral, Killhope lead mine, Auckland Castle, Barnard Castle and Egglestone Abbey to name but a few. We are located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Pennines, absolute heaven for walkers and ramblers.

The area boasts many excellent places to eat including a Michelin starred pub, The Old Raby Hunt, just 15 minutes away in Summerhouse. Eggleston village has a fantastic local pub (a short walk from the hall) The Moorcock Inn with open fires and pool table happily catering for all ages.

Eggleston Hall is the perfect location for any group. Extremely spacious and comfortable the house has retained its character yet still has the feeling of being a home from home.
