A large Cumbrian estate is a great location for a big bunkhouse, and Ellrigg works well for youth groups, friends, extended families, hens, stags and business groups, offering good facilities, on-site activities, 250 acres of woodland, trails to explore and a whole array of fantastic fun experiences for everyone.

This large bunkhouse near Wigton offers simple but comfortable accommodation for a group. The very large commercial catering kitchen is set up for cooking together although there are catering options available if required for schools, corporate groups or for a friends and family special occasion. The dining area is a sociable space next to the kitchen for everyone to eat together. It can also double as a meeting, classroom or presentation room. After supper, relax in the cosy lounge and watch TV or enjoy a few songs around the piano. The games area is a popular spot for a table football tournament and some serious Connect 4 action, also a handy adaptable space for indoor activities including Yoga or Pilates. On warm days there are picnic benches outside in the garden next to the play area, ideal for a quiet coffee while the kids set to work on the climbing frames.

Dormitory style accommodation is modest but has all of the essentials for a decent night's sleep. 2 large rooms sleep 52 altogether in bunk beds with lots of individual storage space and shared shower facilities. Also included on the ground floor is a twin and double room, perfect for teachers, group leaders or those who don't fancy sharing.

Adventure opportunities at Ellrigg include bespoke activities tailored to the group. Woodland Warrior Lasertag and Bushcraft can be arranged for school children, stags and businesses alike, for education purposes, team building or just good old fashioned entertainment. Ellrigg is located within very easy reach of the Lake District for keen walkers and cyclists plus those who enjoy watersports. The medieval town of Wigton is not far away for a wander around its Friday market or the Heritage Trail. Silloth beach on the Solway Coast is a 20 minute drive away, an example of a Victorian seaside resort known for spectacular sunsets and a long promenade.
