All of the accommodation enjoys elevated panoramic views stretching for miles over 5 counties. There's plenty of space for children to play and explore making it ideal for exclusive hire by family groups, friends, walkers, hens and stags. And Ernest's Retreat is dog friendly too. This is budget accommodation at its best with glamping units for between 2 and 5 guests (plus space for extras in the camping cabins). Well insulated with very comfortable beds, you'll need to bring bedding, towels and cooking equipment - similar to camping but without any of the effort of putting up tents in the dark! Acres of space and fantastic views make Ernest's Retreat a lovely venue for bringing everyone together, with barbecues and picnics the order of the day and a safe environment where children and dogs can let off uninterrupted steam. There are a number of local pubs and restaurants too, with Ashover, Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield nearby and Buxton and other Peak District hot spots further afield. Explore pretty Peak District villages and discover interesting historic attractions including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Bolsover Castle.  Head to the hilltop park Heights of Abraham for a ride in a cable car to the summit of Masson Hill. There are walking trails from Ernest's Retreat; try the Chesterfield Round Walk or take on a bigger challenge on the Monsal and Tissington Trails. Outdoor pursuits in the area include abseiling, climbing, canoeing and sailing. Plenty to do for all tastes. We often have catering vans on site serving food at weekends during the peak season,  for large groups on request we can arrange for catering vans to be on site for specific dates.   ## Facilities - **Dog Friendly:** Dogs are welcome at an additional cost of £2 per night. - **WiFi:** WiFi is provided on site. - **Dining Room:** 2 outdoor chairs provided with each pod, a couple of picnic tables situated in communal areas on the site. - **Kitchen:** Please bring your own cooking equipment. Kettles are provided. Communal pot wash area and freezer are present on site. - **Sitting Room:** Seating area in camping cabins. - **Outdoor:** Plenty of space between pods and cabins. Centrally located toilet and shower block. - **Bedrooms:** Ramblers - a double bed. Camping Cabins - a double and 2 fold out cushoned bench beds. Glampers - a double and 3 single bunks. - **Bathrooms:** A new purpose built toilet and shower block centrally located on the field.
