This lovely Peak District holiday house in Two Dales could not be more aptly named. A real getaway from the stresses and strains, The Escape is a wonderful choice for multi generation families, friends and special interests groups to get together in this pretty village on the edge of the Peak District for a truly relaxing holiday or weekend break.
The exterior of the pretty stone cottage is what greets you on arrival, showing off a charming patio space complete with a thatched gazebo covered hot tub and outdoor furniture for barbecues. The living areas inside are cosy, warm and very comfortable with a fully equipped farmhouse style kitchen, sociable dining space and a very comfortable lounge with u shaped leather sofa. The games room is in the conservatory, adjacent to the main house and including a pool table and darts board for family fun and entertainment. It also has a seating area and separate ground floor shower facility.
Accommodation is across 2 floors with 2 kings, 2 twins and a bunk room. 2 upstairs bedrooms have en suite showers as well as indulgent Jacuzzi baths to relax in after a day out walking or cycling. The twin on the ground floor with direct French door access to the patio might be useful for 3 generation gatherings or those less mobile, as well as the extra shower in the games room. There is a family bathroom on the first floor.
Keen hikers and cyclists will love exploring the Peak District and in particular the nearby Monsal Trail, Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail close to Bakewell before returning to this home from home and sitting back in the bubbles or next to the gas stove. Matlock is a short drive away with attractions such as the Crich Tramway Museum or a cable car ride to witness the Heights of Abraham. There's also a great choice of independent cafes and shops. For history buffs, Chatsworth House is 15 minutes, with something for everyone including spectacular gardens, amazing interiors and a children's play area. The youngsters will also be delighted to know that Alton Towers is only 50 minutes from The Escape. The grown ups might like to know about the close proximity of the local pub!
