Exmoor Bunkbarn offers great value group accommodation in a converted old stone barn on a working cattle farm. This is an excellent base from which to explore the Exmoor National Park.
As well as being suitable for families and groups of friends, the bunkbarn is ideal for youth groups who require a base on Exmoor as it has a separate three person room for leaders or teachers, and for D of E expedition groups. At weekends the whole barn is only available with exclusive use, but during the week a group can take one or more of the dorm rooms with shared use of the other facilities.
There are 3 bunkrooms - please note that no bedding is provided so bring sleeping bags, pillows and towels.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with two extendable tables seating 25, a large electric oven and a wood burning cooker/stove plus one bag of free wood to get you started. There's also a drying room available. Outside is a barbecue area and plenty of parking space.
The barn has central heating throughout and hot water provided free from our large 110KW biomass boiler. There are separate male, female and disabled WC/shower rooms.
Located above the village of Bridgetown (only about 35 mins from J27 of M5), the bunkbarn provides groups with "walk out the door" access to the edge of one of Exmoor's most beautiful open moorlands, Winsford Hill - only 1km's walk away. There is also a network of footpaths and bridleways for walking and cycling. We can provide access over our farmland and woodland by prior arrangement for orienteering and other outdoor activities together with contact details for local outdoor training instructors.
Wimbleball Lake with all it's outdoor activities is only 10 - 15 minutes drive away; these include high ropes, sailing, canoeing, fishing, paddle boarding and windsurfing.
