Sleeps either 8 or up to 16 in 2 properties:
The Shearing Shed sleeps 6+2 in 3 double/twin rooms and a sofabed in the living area
Overbrook Barn sleeps 8 in 4 double/twin rooms

A rental hot tub can be arranged for your booking.

Farbrook was built in the 18th century and is a working alpaca breeding farm in a beautiful, quiet valley in the Peak District National Park. There are two properties available on the farm, both of which have been completely renovated to be modern, bright, cosy and warm. All bedrooms have super-king double beds (which can be made up as twins if you prefer) with natural fibre duvets, cotton sheets and covers. All bed linen and towels are provided.

Your children are very welcome, as are your well behaved pets. All our livestock are safe, and the gated gardens are secure. Regularly on the farm are alpacas, sheep, chickens, and ducks: great excitement for city children! The farm has its own driveway: we're well away from our very quiet single lane access road so there's no traffic to worry about.

Many guests visit us just to enjoy life on the farm but there's loads else to do. Countryside enjoyment starts on your doorstep: we're in the middle of the Peak District which has some of the best walking, riding, and cycling in the country. There's a trekking centre in the village so you can enjoy the same on four legs. Get involved in some local country life: come and meet some alpacas, or why not take one of the Peak District's specialist courses in dry stone walling, eco-building, or stonemasonry?

Many of England's best country houses are in or surrounding the Peak District. Chatsworth House and its gardens and adventure playground make a fabulous day out, also Haddon Hall close by. Lyme Park (the setting of Colin Firth's Darcy's meeting of Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice) is a magnificent, Grade I listed, 16th century mansion surrounded by formal gardens and a deer park. Buxton's Opera House has great family productions, as well as opera and ballet, Macclesfield has a 'classic' cinema which has all the new releases. Alton Towers is 30 minute drive away.

Facilities

Fully equipped kitchens with electric equipment (hob, oven, microwave, food processor, dishwasher, washer/dryer).
Overbrook Barn has seating for 8, the Shearing Shed can comfortably seat 16.
Both Overbrook Barn and the Shearing Shed have seating for 8, TV, SKY, DVD and music systems.
Both properties have SKY TV, BlueRay/DVD, music systems, and iPads.
Both properties have free WiFi internet and telephones.
There is no games room.
Both properties have wood-burning stoves and 24 hour central heating and hot water.
Overbrook Barn: 4 double bedrooms (3 can be made up as twins); the Shearing Shed: 3 double/twin bedrooms and a double sofabed in the living room.
All linen and towels provided.
Overbrook Barn: en suite shower room, upstairs bathroom. Shearing Shed: shower room with lavatory, and separate lavatory.
There are no specific facilities for disabled guests.
Cots, high chairs, fire guard, and stair guard available (no charge).
Both properties have lit gardens which are secure for small children; and each has a barbecue with outdoor seating and tables. Rental hot tub.
There is no pool.
Parking for up to 10 cars.
You're welcome to smoke outside but not inside please.
Well behaved pets are welcome. There are great walks everywhere in the Peak District, and plenty of room for off-the-lead running around on the farm.

Location

Farbrook Farm is in a quiet and beautiful valley in the south west corner of the Peak District National Park half a mile from the village of Flash.
We are in the middle of a triangle formed by the Roman town of Buxton and the market towns of Macclesfield and Leek.
Flash Bar village stores is 1 mile away. Macclesfield, Buxton, and Leek all have superstores. You can order online grocery delivery from Waitrose, Ocado, Tesco, Sainsburys, and Morrisons.
The New Inn (Flash) is half a mile away. The Ship Inn (Wincle) is 10 minutes drive away. The George (Allstonefield) has excellent food: it's about 20 minutes drive.

See our website for rates. First payment of 25% to secure booking, balance due 6 weeks before start. Refundable damage deposit £150. Changeover days are usually Friday or Monday, however off-peak we may be able to accommodate flexible start days. See our website for more details.
