The Farmhouse is a luxury holiday house near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, sleeping 14 and perfect for family get togethers, special occasion weekends and for celebrating birthdays and other events with friends.
Set on the Nether Hall Estate, the Farmhouse offers extensive living accommodation, including a large dining room seating the whole group, comfortable sitting rooms, and a garden room (the Greenhouse) with views over the garden. For entertainment, there's a cinema room with a large screen and surround sound, and a games room (the Pit Stop) also with some basic gym equipment.
There are 7 bedrooms, 6 with en suite facilities, spread over 2 floors, each with its own smart TV, and there is a sofa bed in the snug with adjoining wetroom for those requiring single level accommodation. There is an 8th bathroom/shower room in the Greenhouse.
Outside the options continue. The Vinehouse patio area is set up for relaxing or al fresco dining, and there's an undercover space too, the Retreat, with an open fire for chillier evenings.
Well maintained gardens surround the Farmhouse, which overlook large areas of parkland and water meadows, including a large lake, as well as 100 acres of woodland and extensive farmland, where numerous wildlife species can be seen. There are many footpaths and private paths. Tennis, squash and boules courts, table tennis and croquet, and stables (bring a couple of your own horses if you wish) are also available. For children, there is a treehouse, climbing frame, slide and swing. 1200 sq ft event space available for hire.
The Farmhouse adjoins the pretty village of Pakenham, with a pub, a small shop, a windmill and a water mill. Nearby are many acclaimed pubs and restaurants. Visit the Abbey Gardens, the Cathedral or the Greene King brewery in historic Bury St Edmunds. Both the Suffolk and Norfolk coastlines with their charming towns are easily accessed for a day out, as is Cambridge with its colleges and punting.Or try boating on The Broads, racing at Newmarket, or visiting some stunning local National Trust and similar properties.
