The Farmhouse at Venn Farm, Bude

This light-filled 16th century Farmhouse has been lovingly converted over many years. Architects Feilden Fowles seemed like a natural choice to help us with this project as they have won many awards for their conversion of historic buildings. The design is simple, sympathetic and yet thoroughly modern, adding a glass extension to the back of the Farmhouse which takes advantage of the wonderful evening sun. This opens up the house to make the most of the Cornish sunsets and the views over the fields, and provides a very large and social space for cooking and entertaining.

We have worked in fashion and design for many years so have loved renovating our Farmstead. Our aim was to retain original features like the 16th century inglenook fireplace, and breathe new life into the building by opening up the space and introducing more light. The mix of mid century vintage finds, bold graphics and souvenirs from our travels, with pops of bright colours contrasting with crisp white walls, make this holiday house near Bude vibrant and unique. Artwork is displayed on walls and open shelves throughout the property, making the house feel homely. We always invest in good quality, be that mattresses, bedding, towels or toiletries. We use Haekels toiletries throughout.

There are 3 large reception rooms so plenty of space to spread out, including a snug with a smart TV. The kitchen/diner has bi-fold doors onto the terrace beyond where you will find the Gozney pizza oven. There are 2 family bathrooms, one upstairs, one downstairs. There are 4 bedrooms: the kingsize master has an en-suite, there's another kingsize bed, one double with a pull out truckle bed and a fourth twin bedroom.

Our gardens are a mix of grassy areas perfect for football, a formal garden, and a gravel garden with prairie grasses. We also have some wooded areas with dens that kids love to explore. There is a games room which houses a full size table tennis table. There is also a large trampoline. Guests are welcome to collect eggs from our friendly hens.

Larger parties can rent with the adjacent Cob (sleeps 8) and Red Barn (sleeps 4) so 20 in total.
