As the properties have been renovated from original buildings and footprints rather than purpose-built, in consideration of other guests and for practical reasons we limit our group bookings to a maximum of 16 persons (including all children & 3 properties) – using the Cortijo as the main base where everyone can eat & socialise together. (This is not applicable for local events where guests travel independently as part of a larger group, eg attending a wedding or equestrian Sunshine Tour).
Translated as 'the dream', El Sueño is a laid-back finca within a protected Parque Natural, near the hilltop 'white village' of Vejer de la Frontera with miles of golden sandy beaches between Tarifa to Cadiz in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of the Costa de la Luz, the 'coast of light'. Carefully renovated using traditional local features, the Casitas (cottages) named after the trees beside them offer character and simple home comforts - sharing a large swimming pool and sun terrace. At the heart of the finca sits the original Cortijo (farmhouse) with its own private pool, perfect just by itself or as the central base for groups of up to 16 guests.
The properties offer flexible options to suit all groups to reconnect and a base to explore this wonderful region together, or separately with private space including shaded patio with BBQ for alfresco dining and a garden area. Central gardens offer two play areas for younger children, table tennis & giant board games and a hidden bees & butterflies garden; straight out of the gates you can walk or cycle down the quiet country lane into the Natural Parque and our little hamlet of El Soto. Wifi, weekly housekeeping, items for children and daily bilingual caretaker are included, with an arrival shopping service, bilingual childminder and bike hire delivery available on request.
Just minutes drive away are wonderful restaurants, shops & markets, fun-filled activities, stunning local wildlife and nature, as well as a wealth of history & culture in traditional fiestas and day-trips including Sevilla, Jerez, Cadiz, Tarifa and even Morocco. Perfect for those who want to escape from the crowds, the finca is also a sheltered and peaceful retreat to return to at the end of a busy day - enjoy a sizzling barbeque, slip off for a siesta, dive in for a cooling swim, play a game of table tennis, a simply find a shady corner to read a book ...
