## About The Property

The Hostel is let to meet all needs of youth/adult/family Groups & Individuals all year round .

The accommodation comprises two 10 bed dormitories, a twin bedroom, an en suite family room, a kitchen, dining, social area and shower-toilets. A separate studio flat to sleep 6 is also available.

Connected to the Hostel is our Resource Centre which can be booked separately for conferences and activities.

Findhorn Village enjoys a very beautiful location. It is a former fishing and sea trading village situated between six miles of sandy beach to the east and Findhorn Bay Local Nature Reserve to the west. The Hostel is adjacent to Findhorn Bay where the River Findhorn enters the Moray Firth. A fantastic location for wildlife spotting & photography for those not in to active sports.

A wide range of natural environments are at hand - beaches, sand dunes, forests (including the famous Culbin Forest)and mountain ranges. There are opportunities for walking, cycling (along the Moray Coastal Trail), water sports and watching a wide variety of birds and other wildlife.

There is a wide range of sporting and recreational activities available with local organisations in the area; such as Findhorn Marina, Moray GIG, Ace Adventures, Outfit Moray, Wild things! and the Findhorn Foundation to name a few.

Within 2 minutes walk there is a football field, enclosed children's play area & picnic area, two all weather tennis courts and a bowling green which are run by local clubs. The bay is ideal for all water sports. There is an 18-hole pay as you play golf course at Kinloss four miles away and an excellent 18-hole course at Forres which is five miles away. There are also 3 swimming pools and a Skating rink within 10 miles.

Findhorn is a little under an hour's drive away from Aviemore's Loch Morlich for water sports and the Cairngorm mountain range for walking, climbing and snow skiing, Spey bay Wildlife reserve, Loch Ness and the beautiful Black Isle.

The weather at Findhorn is maritime and hardly ever extreme but it can be rather changeable.

Whatever your interest or activity you should suffer little disappointment at any time of the year.

## Facilities

- **Accessibility:** We do have facilities in place for the disabled. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
- **Dog Friendly:** We can accommodate pets by arrangement but we have a strict limit on how many and which areas of the hostel can be used by pets
- **Kitchen:** Fully equipped kitchen including Fridge and freezer, Hob and Oven,Dish Washer
- **Dining Room:** Seating for 24. Attached Village Centre Conference facilities can be made available.
- **Sitting Room:** Large general area for relaxing
- **TV and Music Facilities:** Free WiFi plus smart TVs with Netflix available
- **Games Room:** No additional description supplied.
- **Heating and Open Fires:** The centre is fully heated with an Airsource system
- **Bedrooms:** Two 10 bed dormitories, a smaller twin room, an en suite family room for 4 plus a self contained studio flat to sleep 6.
- **Linen:** Bed linen is provided but we cannot supply towels, sorry.
- **Bathrooms:** Ladies, gents and disabled bathrooms. The disabled bathroom is a wet room. Extra Showers available on Request in the attached Village Centre.
- **Children's Facilities:** There is a travel cot and children's equipment available if required.
- **Outdoor:** Tennis, sail training, white water or beach and forest walks. Various Outdoor adventure companies work in this area and information can be provided.
- **Swimming Pool:** Swimming pools are available in the next Towns of Forres, Nairn and Elgin.
- **Parking:** There is ample parking.
- **Smoking:** No smoking in the building.

- **Food and Drink:** There are 2 local pubs in the village (5 mins walk) both serve food and 3 café's all within a short walking distance of hostel.
