The kitchen in the main house is very well set up for preparing meals for everyone although it might be worth asking about hiring in a local caterer to cook for a special occasion. Being able to eat together in the formal dining room is a real treat although the breakfast room and kitchen island are relaxed and informal. If the weather is good, why not opt for a barbecue outside or make the most of the specially designed barbecue hut? The separate playroom and football nets will be a hit with the youngsters while the grown ups make the most of a hot tub seating 6.

There are 8 bedrooms in total, a mix of superkings or twins with en suites. The ground floor bedroom in The Fitz has disabled access and a wet room, useful for multi generational groups or those with mobility issues. The master suites offer maximum indulgence in spacious rooms with stylish soft furnishings, garden views and free standing baths. The other rooms can be configured as superkings or zip and link, depending on the wishes of the guests. All have en suites as well as TVs.

Bassenthwaite Lake, Crummock Water and Buttermere are easily accessed, great for those keen water sports enthusiasts and thrill seekers. The coast is nearby, and there are plentiful opportunities for walking and cycling challenges to suit all abilities. Cockermouth itself, within walking distance, is a gem of a town with lots to see and do with pretty little streets full of independent shops, cafes and pubs, and even its own brewery. Lots of other wonderful restaurants and pubs too.
