FSC Blencathra is an ideal venue for large groups looking for accommodation in the Lake District. It can be hired on a self catering or catered basis and sleeps up to 130 people in the main house, St John's annexe and Lonscale Hostel combined. The main house sleeps 116 guests in 31 bedrooms (6 en-suite) in a mix of single, twin and dormitory rooms. St John's (separate annexe can used as part of accommodation with the Main house at a supplement) sleeps 10 in 3 en-suite bedrooms (ground floor: 1 x double bed, first floor: 1 x 4-bed & 1 x 2-bed). Lonscale (separate self-contained property can be used as part of accommodation with Main house or hired independently): Sleeps 26 in 6 en-suite rooms in a mix of single, twin and dormitory rooms. There are 2 accessible ground floor bedrooms in the main house with en suite wet-rooms. Disabled access is available throughout the ground floor of the main Centre. The classrooms, dining and common rooms are also accessible. There is disabled parking near reception and ramp access to main house (front door). Dining room seats up to 70 people in one sitting. The main house has a library, 3 TV/DVD lounge rooms, one with games facilities including table football, table tennis and a pool table. There is a licensed bar and shop although these are not available to self-catering groups unless special arrangements are made prior to the visit. There are 6 meeting/workrooms with interactive whiteboards and Wi-Fi access seating from 14 to 80+. Multi-media projection facilities also available. Activities can be arranged for both adults and children (subject to availability), these are chargeable and must be booked in advance. There is a basketball/volleyball court, picnic areas and delightful outdoor patio area for those lazy summer evenings. There are also lawned areas with easy access to multiple footpaths for Blencathra. Other guests staying in our self-catering properties will have shared use of these areas. The Centre also has 4 self catering cottages, Latrigg View that sleeps up to 5 people, Yonder End sleeping 22 people and Borrowdale and Castlerigg that sleep 2 people.
