FSC Blencathra is an ideal venue for a large group looking for accommodation in the Lake District. It can be hired on a self catering or catered basis and sleeps up to 132 people in the Main House and Lonscale Hostel.

The Main House has 31 bedrooms, with bunk and single beds, consisting of 20 dormitory rooms, 9 twin and 2 single rooms. Six are en-suite and two are designed for disabled visitors. It has a library, three TV/DVD lounge rooms, one with games facilities including table football, table tennis and a pool table. Outside basketball/volleyball court and picnic areas. There is a Licensed bar, shop, vending machine and a guest pantry with hot and cold drinking making facilities.

There are meeting/workrooms with interactive whiteboards and Wi-Fi access. Multi-media projection facilities are also available for use.

FSC Blencathra can provide adventurous activities such as Mountain walks, Ghyll Scrambling, Rock climbing, Abseiling and Canoeing, Bushcraft, Orienteering/Navigation skills and Team Building.
Equipment for outdoor activities is available to hire.

We can offer a range of courses from Key Stage 2 to University level and leisure courses which can be tailored to meet your needs if required.

The Centre also has 4 self catering cottages, Latrigg View that sleeps up to 5 people and Derwent View, Borrowdale and Castlerigg that sleep 2 people.

The Centre also has Lonscale Hostel a self catering unit that sleeps up to 26 people which can be hired out together or separately from the Main house.

We are AALA and LOTC accredited and all staff are DBS checked.

Fully fitted kitchen with gas industrial cookers, dishwasher, fridge, freezers, microwave, crockery and utensils etc.
Dining room facilities can sit up to 75 people in one sitting.
Nice luxurious lounge with conservatory overlooking the Northern Lake District Fells, with leather sofas.
Flat screen TV with DVD.
Mobile phone reception, ICT facilities - Wi-Fi access.
Large recreation room with sofas, TV and DVD, pool table, table tennis and table football.
Central heating throughout.
31 bedrooms that can sleep up to 107 people. 20 dormitory rooms, 9 twin and 2 single rooms. 6 of these rooms are en suite.
All linen is provided. Please bring your own towels.
Individual showers and toilets are on the same corridor as the bedrooms either directly opposite or a few feet away.
Disabled access is available throughout the ground floor of the Centre with 2 ground floor bedrooms offering en suite shower and toilet facilities.
The Centre is in an elevated position on the side of Blencathra with ample parking and outside space. There is a basketball court.
Nearest Leisure Complex - Keswick. Nearest Swimming Pool - Penrith.
Ample parking for cars and access for coaches to turn around and park.
No smoking in the buildings but there are designated outside smoking areas.
Pets are only allowed in the 2 self catering cottages. £20.00 per dog.

Location

Junction 40 M6 follow A66 to Keswick. After 15 miles turn right into Threlkeld continue and turn right onto Blease road. Centre 1 mile up the hill.
Keswick - 5 miles. Penrith - 13 miles.
We have a tuck shop on site selling gifts, sweets, drinks and publications. Keswick - Booths, Co-op. Penrith - Morrisons, Sainsbury's.
Threlkeld has 2 pubs - The Salutation and The Horse and Farrier offering accommodation and food.

We require a reservation deposit for all reservations, with full balance payable four weeks prior to arrival. Please contact us for prices, which will depend on the type of stay you require (self catering, B&B, full board).

Stagecoach X4 and X5 Bus from Penrith to Workington stops at Threlkeld Village.
Newcastle - 2 hours. Liverpool - 2 hours.
