FSC Rhyd-y-Creuau is popular with groups choosing to explore the mountains and adventure activities of the Snowdonia National Park which surrounds the Centre. Sorry - no hens or stags.
The property sleeps 100 guests in 32 bedrooms across 3 floors (lower ground/ground floor and first floor). 15 have en-suite facilities, the rest have modern shared bathrooms close by.
There is a twin en-suite wheelchair accessible room (with wet-room) on the ground floor. All of the ground floor area is accessible for wheelchairs and there is a wheelchair accessible toilet.
There is a games area in the cellar of the main house, with access to DVD players, computer consoles and TVs as well as a pool table, comfy sofas, table tennis and table football. There are two lounges/common rooms. One is an adult lounge with a wood-burning stove, and the other is a student lounge that will accommodate approx. 30 people, with TV/DVD player and board games.
There are 5 meeting/classrooms with seating for up to 30.
There is a licensed bar stocked with local ales and spirits, wines, soft drinks and snacks in the adult lounge. There is also a shop selling drinks, snacks and souvenirs of your stay as well as a selection of FSC publications. However, please note these are not available to self-catering groups unless special arrangements are made prior to the visit.
There is a lockable wooden shed outside the kitchen which is available to store bikes, canoes etc. The 2.2 hectare estate includes woodland, biodiversity garden, a stream, campfire area, 2 ponds including a 10 minute well-being walkway. A football pitch is located to the rear of the building, and we respectfully ask visitors to ensure ball games are played only in this area. There is a campfire area located in the grounds and also a BBQ and pizza oven in the courtyard.
Activities can be arranged for both adults and children (subject to availability), these are chargeable and must be booked in advance. Please ask for more information.
Betws-y-Coed is about a 20 minute walk from the Centre where there are pubs, two convenience stores and a range of cafes and gift shops.
