Set in 35 acres of farmland, Galrigside Farm is on an equestrian yard where horses are trained for use in weddings and films. This pretty Ayrshire holiday house is a great place for friends and multi generation family breaks away. The big advantage of Galrigside is in being all on one level, making it perfect for any guest with mobility issues. We welcome wedding celebration parties too - there's space for a marquee, or the indoor arena can be used as a function space, or for camping/camper van parking.

Riding and carriage driving lessons available on request. There are plenty of opportunities for walks from the door, with unspoilt beaches within 15 minutes and watersports a few miles away too. Golf courses are nearby, Dundonald Castle 5 minutes and Ayr racecourse about 8 miles away. A trip to Glasgow is a definite must with its many museums, cultural attractions, night life and fantastic shopping. The A77 and A78 Highlands Coastal Route is easily accessed.

Galrigside is set in a secure courtyard, ideal for socialising and a safe place for the children to run about. The balconied decking area accessed from the lounge is the perfect position to enjoy an al fresco meal against the countryside panoramic backdrop. The open plan kitchen and lounge is a conducive layout and excellent for preparing a meal for everyone. Eat in the formal dining room or in the kitchen and relax on sofas in the sitting room with a glass of your favourite tipple. The gym is well equipped for fitness activities but can double up as a studio for yoga or dance. The snug is a popular spot for those seeking peace and quiet as well as their own TV, ideal for an extended family.

5 bedrooms overall; 2 double with en suite, 2 double and 1 quadruple with 2 shared bathrooms, one with luxury freestanding bath and the other with extra large shower. Comfortable spaces with modern fixtures, pretty soft furnishings and external rural views.

House trained pets are welcome. For pets that cannot stay at home and not suitable to remain in the house, indoor stables are available for use as temporary kennels. All pets must be kept under strict control due to livestock in surrounding fields.

1 bedroom, bathrooms, snug, dining and kitchen are ground floor step free. Corridor to 3 bedrooms has 1 step. Standard width doors, UPVC frames.

Dog Friendly

House trained pets are welcome, but not in bedrooms or on furniture. Please pick up after your pet and keep on lead when near livestock.

Kitchen

Fully equipped kitchen includes an island, 4 ovens and American style fridge freezer. Utility room has a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher.

3 options: informal dining in the kitchen, formal dining room and large balconied terrace with views for alfresco meals and BBQs accessed from kitchen

Ample off road secure parking.

Smoking

No smoking is permitted on the property, inside or outside the house, as a working farm the risk is not acceptable.

Booking Information

Checkout 10-11am, check in 3pm onwards with times flexible by arrangement. Changeover day flexible. £1200 damage deposit. No smoking in any area of the house, if discovered a charge of £150 per room to specialist clean. Chef available, large family events can be catered for by negotiation.

Located just under 5 minutes from the village of Gatehead and just over 10 from Kilmarnock. Easy access from main A71. Barrasie 4.5, Troon beach 6 miles and Ayr 11 miles. 45 mins to Glasgow.

Regular bus service between Kilmarnock and Gatehead.
Kilmarnock Railway Station is 10 minutes away.
Kilmarnock 3 miles, Troon 6 miles. The entire west coastline has golf courses of various levels. Ayr is mecca for horse racing.
Kilmarnock has a Morrisons, Tesco, Asda., Aldi and Lidl.
Kilmarnock has a wide selection of pubs and restaurants, Dundonald Inn only 5 mins from Galrigside. Wheat Sheaf is a lovely pub in Symington 4 miles. 5* food. Scotts Harbour restaurant - need to book.
Glasgow Airport is just under 40 minutes. Prestwick 15 minutes.
