yet the accommodation itself is situated two minutes walk from the lovely market town of Wimborne. The Gatehouse is a beautifully renovated Georgian house which offers bags of space for families or a big group of friends. Although the elegant, chalky-white façade suggests a compact building, on entering The Gatehouse you will discover high ceilings, cosy nooks, sash windows and a wonderful turned wooden staircase. The front windows frame views of the mature trees of this lovely estate, together with the iron gates to Deans Court. The house was renovated a couple of years ago to a very high standard. The owners have used a mixture of antiques and modern furniture to give a lovely feeling blending old and new, featuring vibrant kilims and bright white wooden floors, while patterned French linen blinds look great with walls painted in delicate shades of blue and grey. The seven bedrooms are filled with painted furniture and overlook the lawned garden; traditional bathrooms are stocked with fluffy white towels and fragrant Bramley products. The Gatehouse (sleeps 16): Top Floor: family room (double and two singles) with en suite bathroom Upstairs: three double rooms (one of which has an en suite shower room), two twin rooms and two bathrooms Downstairs: one twin room (with en suite shower room), sitting room, large kitchen and separate breakfast room and dining room. Apple Cottage (sleeps 6): Upstairs: two double rooms and a bathroom Downstairs: one twin/double room with en suite shower room, sitting room with wood burner, large kitchen/dining room and a separate w/c.
