Gaveston is ideal for friends and family gathering for a special occasion, wedding or big birthday. Equally, as a venue it is a great option for educational groups, schools, sports clubs, corporate and retreats. Outdoors, Gaveston has a fishing lake, football field, barbecue and picnic area, tennis court, woodland walks from the door and footpaths leading to The Downs link bridleway. The indoor swimming pool (only available in the summer months) as well as pool and table tennis provide opportunities for wind down time and relaxation. Gaveston is a peaceful and protected environment with indigenous wildlife roaming freely. The children will be able to sample a different way of life feeding chickens, goats and horses. The commercial kitchen in the big house well set up for all catering options. Up to 120 guests can be seated in the sociable halls for an enjoyable dining experience together. For weddings, there is plenty of space on the lawns for setting up a marquee or the intimate Victorian dining room for 50. Accommodation inside Gaveston Hall is hostel or dormitory style mostly with bunks as well as a few single or twin rooms for accompanying adults. Rooms are centrally heated and there is access to indoor showers and WCs as well as an outdoor toilet block. Supplementary bedrooms in the centrally heated cabins are bunk style and there are 2 bathrooms in each unit. 1 of the cabins is accessible, a consideration for any member of the group with reduced mobility. An additional cabin offers limited kitchen facilities and seating with a TV. There is no real need to leave this secluded and safe place once you have parked up, although it might be tempting to wander down to the local pub in Nuthurst. Gaveston is readily accessible to the South Downs and the south coast including Brighton.
