Ghyll Head is an established Outdoor Education Centre with all the facilities you would expect. We are an ideal venue for a school or college activities week or holiday break, family and friends reunion or celebration, a field studies week, corporate team building or a retreat for a religious group.
The Centre can be taken on a self catered basis for you to then deliver your own programme or sightseeing agenda. We can also deliver comprehensive activity / field study week or simply provide full board if you prefer not to self cater.

Ghyll Head is a Victorian house adapted for use by organised groups and accommodates 60 residents in a range of bunk bedded rooms, some ensuite and number of rooms with a single over double bed option. The dining room, wash up room, games room and lounge are all well equipped. Located a few miles south of Bowness the centre is ideal for the central and south lakes.
We deliver adventurous activity weeks and weekends in the Lake District National Park. All equipment, qualified instruction accommodation, local transport and food can be included.
We accommodate a range of needs, diets and activities to suite a range of groups, call us we'll be pleased to create a bespoke package to suite your needs and budget.
We are open year round 7 days a week.
We're active, well qualified and great fun as well as being able to deliver high quality learning in the outdoors!
We also have on site self catered barrier free (wheel chair friendly) accommodation in a modern bungalow for 23 along, a simple lodge facility that sleeps 14 with a barrier free boathouse on Windermere allowing access to the lake and our water activities.
