Experience ‘OPERATION ZERO’ – a NEW scenario based survival experience for groups of up to 30 attendees – just £65 per person!

Day 1: Scavenge, Survive and Camp Overnight

Scavenge the site for resources including tents, hammocks, tarps, food and water

The Gordon Brown Centre is a welcoming and flexible venue for youth groups, schools and organised residential stays, offering space, a variety of accommodation types and a strong focus on shared experiences outdoors. Most accommodation is arranged in bunk beds, making it ideal for group stays, with capacity for groups from around 12 up to 200 depending on accommodation choice.

Flexible catering options are available, from bed and breakfast to fully catered stays, with self catering also possible using the commercial kitchen. Indoor dining is available in the hall for 60, with space for large outdoor group meals. The hall can also be used for plenary sessions, games and evening activities.

For a more outdoor focused stay, groups can choose bell tents each sleeping up to 5, wooden camping pods for up to 4, log cabins sleeping up to 8, a lodge for 6, a survival area for 2 person tents and a camping field with large pitches. This mix allows leaders to tailor the experience to the age and needs of their group.

On-site facilities include fire circles, marquees, a classroom space, camping toilets and showers, overnight loos and laundry facilities. A wide range of activities can be booked, including climbing, free fall drops, laser tag, archery, low ropes, trim trail, blindfold trail and archery tag, all led by qualified instructors. There is also a mini farm to visit, with other optional extras including evening campfires, night walks, quiz nights and relaxed time around the fire with marshmallows and hot chocolate – all to create a fun, supportive and memorable youth group experience.

- Climbing Walls (Weight restrictions apply) – Strapped into harnesses & safely held with auto-belays navigate 9 different routes across 3 graduating difficulties of  wall. Challenge yourself to go higher, suitable for beginners and more experienced climbers.

- Free-Fall Drops (Weight restrictions apply) – The ‘Death Drop’ offers an exhilarating experience. Climb to the top of a 10m pole before moving across to the high platform. Step off and let the power fan take the strain, providing for a genuine dare-devil experience in a safe environment. The Auto Abseiling Challenge offers a thrilling experience starting with a 10m wall climb. Once you reach the top, a 2m free fall awaits before descending safely back down to the ground.

- Air Rifle Shooting range – New for 2026 – Stay on target! compete with your friends to see who is the sharpest shooter at our target range with up to 3 shooting at a time.

- Low Rope Course – The course comprises 26 challenges comprising a balancing beam, rope-bridge, tightrope course, cargo nets, bouldering wall etc…, which have been custom built in the wooded areas of the Centre.

- Trim Trail – This is a multi-skill assault course with sixteen stations, including monkey bars, balance bridges, spider’s web, and a six-foot wall to get over! This is a great team event against the clock.

- Archery – Learn how to handle a bow and arrow and improve aim whilst shooting bespoke targets on our outdoor range.
- 
- Archery Tag – Donning face masks, you can battle against your friends by firing (safe, foam tipped) arrows at each other to score points. Dodgeball but with more jeopardy!
- 
- 300m Blindfold Trail – Working as pairs, navigate the 300m blindfold trail, using a variety of senses…excluding sight! Participants will follow a rope and try to navigate their way round a series of obstacles. Trust, support, leadership, and communication is essential for this challenge.

- Communal campfire – Relax with an evening campfire hot chocolate & marshmallows, lit & maintained with wood provided by the Centre.
