Gorse Lodge is a vast luxury holiday house near Newark on the Nottinghamshire border, perfect for a great break away in a fantastic location with excellent road links.

Surrounded by 32 acres of beautiful private lakes, woodland and landscaped gardens it's ideal for multi generation families and friends to gather for a holiday or somewhere special to celebrate a milestone birthday.

The design of the lodge is open plan with an extra large fully equipped kitchen, great sociable dining with a feature vaulted ceiling and comfortable lounges with cosy wood burners and semi circular bar perfect for a pre-dinner drink or night cap. Extra space can be found in the conservatory atrium, which is a lovely light room with French doors opening onto a terrace, perfect for barbecues and evening drinks. Relax in the hot tub after an activity filled day and plan the next day's adventures exploring this undiscovered area. Enjoy family fun over a game of pool, or watch a movie on the large home cinema screen with luxury tiered seating. The energetic in your group can head to the home gym for a workout.

Bedrooms are configured as kings, triples and a twin in the lodge. All bedrooms are newly refurbished and individually decorated, spacious with attractive soft furnishings and stylish en suite facilities. The Pen and The Rookery are fully self contained annexes with living areas and king size en suites, a consideration for anyone in the group after a little privacy. These can be added as an extra and are only available to guests booking the main house so you will have sole use of the property.

There is a great array of wildlife to watch at the lodge

A shoot experience can be booked by prior arrangement at Brandon Wood clay pigeon shoot depending on experience. Guests can fish the lakes with their own equipment and licence on condition that all fish are returned to the lake unharmed.

Lincoln has a Medieval Cathedral, castle and galleries. And there are lots of local walks.

Inside dining for all guests with doors opening onto the terrace. Outside dining on patio. Small dining area in the 2 annexes.

Sitting Room

2 comfy lounges with wood burner and atrium cum conservatory with doors to terrace. Stairs to a glazed galleria landing and bespoke semi-circular bar.

Bedrooms

2 kings, 1 queen, 1 triple, 1 family, a twin in main lodge. The Pen and The Rookery have kings. The 8 bedrooms are en suite. Extra king & double sofa.

Bathrooms

8 en suites. 2 downstair bathrooms in communal areas.

Heating and Open Fires

Centrally heated throughout with under floor heating in the games room. Wood burners in Gorse Lodge lounge and dining room - logs are supplied.

Linen

Quality bed linen and bathroom towels are supplied.

TV and Music Facilities

TVs in games room and bedrooms. Cinema screen compatible with Netflix. Blu-ray player available.

Parking

Off road secure parking for up to 20 cars.

Smoking

No smoking please.

Children's Facilities

Cot and high chair available on request. Lots of board games to play and DVDs to watch.

Booking Information

Minimum stay of 3 nights (2 nights will be considered out of peak season). The Pen and The Rookery are additional self contained units that can be hired for an extra charge of £99 each per night. The Pens sleeps 2 in king size ensuite room with basic kitchen and dining. The Rookery sleeps 4 made up of double ensuite bedroom and king sofa bed in kitchen / dining area. These are only let to guests in the main house so you have sole use of the whole property.

£1000 security deposit.

Check in is from midday and checkout 11am – we can arrange earlier check ins and later checkouts by prior arrangement.

The hot tub is an optional extra for £300 which includes use of the gym over looking the lake.

Located in the rural village of Stubton on the Nottinghamshire Lincolnshire border. Newark on Trent is under 20 minutes and Nottingham under an hour. Excellent road links from all directions with the A1 within a very short distance and M1 not far.

The Tawny Owl and The Willow Tree in Newark. The Five Bells in Caythorpe comes recommended as does The Brownlow Arms in Hough.
