A courtyard of farm buildings built from sandstone quarried on the farm, converted to provide high class holiday accommodation retaining original features, including doveholes inside and pig troughs outside. A two storey barn, The Grange, and a single storey barn, Doveholes - ideal to hire together, suitable for groups of friends and multi-generational family groups for reunions.

The barns are off a quiet country lane with beautiful views, close to a footpath leading to picturesque Kirk Ireton (1 mile) with its village shop, medieval church and real ale pub. Good access to the rest of Derbyshire, the Peak District and beyond.

The Grange sleeps 14 in 6 bedrooms:
- 1 ground floor twin with WC close by
- family room with double and 2 singles, en suite shower and WC
- 2 doubles, each with en suite shower and WC
- 2 twins
- family bathroom with bath and separate shower

The spacious hallway (with snooker table) has an elegant staircase and access to the patio and lawn and is lit by a fully glazed wall where the large barn doors formerly hung. Each bedroom is provided with a radio and a hair dryer. A large utility area and boot room has a washing machine, tumble drier and sink, and a WC off this area.

Doveholes sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms:
- double with en suite shower room and WC
- twin with en suite (bath with shower over) and WC

Open plan comfortable lounge and kitchen/diner. A glazed door opens on to the courtyard. The kitchen is well equipped including double oven cooker. Utility room with washing machine and tumble drier.

The south facing courtyard provides an area for outdoor lounging, dining and parking, with an undercover area suitable for parties or a hired-in hot tub.

Catering - breakfasts, packed lunches, 3 course dinners and afternoon tea, all cooked in house for your special occasion. We even wash up!

Hot tub, bouncy castle and inflatables hire - via local suppliers.

Guided walks - around Kirk Ireton, Carsington Water and further afield in the Peak District.

Facilities

Large, open plan with dining area. Recently renewed, generously equipped, including ample fridge and freezer space, 2 double oven cookers, microwave.
Ample space for all guests to dine in comfort. A TV monitor with a Wii is here so that guests can enjoy their games without taking over the main TV.
Comfortably furnished and provided with a large TV and DVD player. Glazed doors opening on to the paved area. Open plan living area in Doveholes.
TV in lounge and extra monitor for games in dining room. Radio with iPod docking station. Alarm clock radios in bedrooms.
High speed wireless broadband provided by W3Z is available throughout the house and grounds.
A quarter sized (6’ x 3’) snooker/pool table is provided in the spacious hallway of The Grange and other games are stored here.
Central heating throughout.
The Grange: 6 bedrooms sleeping 14 (one twin room on ground floor). Doveholes Cottage: 2 bedrooms sleeping 4 (one double, one twin). Sofa beds.
Bed linen and two towels per person included.
The Grange: family bathroom plus three en suite shower rooms and a downstairs WC. Doveholes Cottage: en suite shower room and en suite bathroom.
Doveholes Cottage is suitable for persons of limited mobility (two steps with hand rails to enter the property and one shallow internal step).
4 cots and 4 high chairs available on request. Stair gates at top and bottom in The Grange if required.
Enclosed garden. In-built barbecues. Garden furniture. Undercover area attached to The Grange ideal for hot tub hire/parties.
There is no swimming pool.
Ample parking at the door, more than you will need!
Strictly forbidden inside the properties. There is a large undercover area attached to The Grange suitable for smokers.
Strictly no pets.

Location

Country location with many footpaths, 1 mile from village with medieval church and pub. Carsington Water with watersports, Chatsworth and other stately homes, Alton Towers 20 miles, Peak District.
Wirksworth (3 miles) is a friendly historic market town with relics of its medieval past. Many pubs, coffee shops, restaurants, and interesting local shops.
Kirk Ireton and Idridgehay have village shops (each 1 mile) and larger shops can be found in Wirksworth (3 miles). Belper, Ashbourne and Matlock all approx 7 miles. Derby 12 miles.
Barley Mow, Kirk Ireton - traditional real ale pub, no food. Pubs/restaurants - many within 3-5 miles.

Prices quoted for The Grange only - sleeps 14+4 + cots. Doveholes, a few metres away in same courtyard, 4+2 + cot - prices on my website. 4 night midweek same price as 3 night weekends. Changeover days usually Fridays and Mondays but flexible. For further information visit our website.
