This holiday bunk barn in the Yorkshire Dales offers comfortable budget accommodation for groups of up 34 people, with exclusive use, in a beautiful setting just above the village of Grassington in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

There are 4 bunk rooms sleeping from 4 to 12 people. The 4 bed room has its own en suite shower room and is equipped with wider doors and an alarm for guests who may need a little extra help.

The barn features a beautifully appointed and fully equipped open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, with 3 hobs and ovens, 2 large fridges, microwaves, toasters. When the weather is good we have a large outside barbecue area, complete with picnic tables and benches where you can sit and enjoy the fantastic view towards Malham as the sun sets.

We have a spacious and secure bike store with basic tools for the cyclist who want either the challenge of the road or off road using the many mountain bike routes.

The bunk barn also boasts a large drying room should anyone get caught in a downpour.

Grassington itself is a busy and thriving village with an award winning butcher, a superb Deli, and a specialist wine and beer shop. Fish and chips and a curry take away, excellent pub food and, for a real treat, fine dining, are all nearby. There are cultural festivals throughout the year such as the renowned Grassington Festival, 1940's weekend and the well established Dickensian pre Christmas celebrations.

Whether you are a rambler or a walker, a cyclist or a coarse fisher, a group of friends or a family get together, Grassington Bunk Barn is an ideal place to base your visit to Grassington in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Miles of countryside to explore, with waterfalls and caves, castles and stately homes - you will find it all within easy reach.

Sorry - no specific facilities although one dorm has an en suite and wider doors for easier access.

WiFi

Free WiFi. Mobile phone reception is OK downstairs, but much better upstairs in the kitchen and communal area!

Kitchen

3 cookers/hobs, ample fridge space, microwaves, toaster and kettles. Fully equipped with pots, pans, plates, dishes and cutlery.

Dining Room

There is an open plan dining area seating up to 34 adjacent to the kitchen area.

Sitting Room

Open plan area with comfortable sofas, a large screen TV and free WiFi. Board games and books plus a large 3D map of the Yorkshire Dales to peruse.

TV and Music Facilities

Freeview TV and WiFi available.

Heating and Open Fires

A wood burning stove in the sitting room. Heating is by a biomass boiler fueled with wood and shavings from the adjacent furniture making workshop.

Bedrooms

There are 4 bedrooms: 2 dormitories each sleeping 12, a 6 bed dorm and finally a 4 bed dorm with its own shower room.

Linen

We provide a bottom sheet for the mattress, pillow and pillow case. Towels, duvets and duvet covers can be ordered for a small extra charge.

Bathrooms

There are 3 individual shower rooms, plus a 3 cubicle shower block and a 3 cubicle toilet block.

Outdoor

The bunk barn has an outdoor barbecue area with picnic tables and benches. There is a private footpath up through our pasture to a 5 acre meadow.

Swimming Pool

There is no swimming pool. The nearest swimming pool is at Long Ashes Leisure Park which is about 3 miles.

Parking

There is ample outdoor parking for cars or mini buses.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed in any part of the bunk barn or bike store. There is provision for smokers near the barbecue area.

Booking Information

Exclusive use.

We ask for a deposit of 25% to confirm the booking and then we request the balance to be paid 4 weeks before your stay.

We also ask for a damage bond of £100 which is refundable. We will include this on your invoice. The bond will be refunded as long as there is no damage or additional exceptional cleaning following your stay.

Location

We are just 1/2 mile above Grassington in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Situated at 1000ft above sea level with spectacular views over Wharfedale.

Grassington is 1/2 mile down the hill; although most locals call it a village we do have a Town Hall. Skipton is the closest town 10 miles away.
Grassington has a Co-op, baker, a deli and a newsagent. Most of the major supermarkets will deliver shopping ordered on line.
There are many pubs, cafes and restaurants in the centre of Grassington which is just over 1/2 mile down the hill.
Leeds & Bradford, 20 miles.
Skipton Station is about 10 miles away.
A local bus service runs several times daily. The nearest bus stop is Grassington Square by the museum.
