The Great Hay Barn is 5 star self-catering holiday accommodation for friends, family or couples to celebrate reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, the Hay Festival or just to get together for a holiday or weekend. The Great Hay Barn sleeps 12 with dining for up to 20 people. It can be rented in conjunction with another property at Cwmhir Court.
The Barn has been restored to an extremely high standard and enjoys beautiful views across the Wye Valley to the Black Mountains. It is a part-13th century building with an impressive dining and entertainment space, some 50-feet long and 3 storeys high with a wood-burning stove at its heart. At the Great Hay Barn guests will enjoy comfortable beds, limestone tiled bathrooms and wooden, rug-strewn floors throughout. There's also a games room with table tennis and a small billiard table - and a piano in the hall!
Cooking is a pleasure in The Great Hay Barn; its large sunny kitchen has wood worktops and stainless steel fittings, a stone flagged floor and heavy beamed ceiling. There's an American fridge, a double oven and two dishwashers. The kitchen table seats 12 for informal meals - the more formal dining room seats 20 - and there are doors opening onto either a patio with extensive lawns or a sheltered walled garden.
There are five double and one twin bedrooms with five bath or shower rooms (two en suite).
Cots and high chairs available on request. We also provide details of local caterers and shops as well as places to eat, drink, visit and walk.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome (maximum of two) at a small extra charge.
Yoga studio also available by separate negotiation for retreats as with other properties at Cwmhir Court.
