Great Higham is a farmyard development 45 miles from London with excellent access to Ebbsfleet and Ashford Eurostar and the Shuttle. Part of a 2,500-acre private estate in the North Downs AONB, it is in a tranquil rural setting surrounded by open fields and woodland. There are four buildings within the complex, each with their own landscaped grounds but within easy walking distance of each other.
Great Higham Barn with its magnificent thatched roof has a striking interior where modern glass and steel complement the original Tudor timber frame. The barn sleeps up to 18 and can seat up to 28 around the vast handmade dining table. The open plan living space is divided into four areas providing both a sense of community and places of privacy and seclusion. The relaxed and stylish atmosphere of the barn and the sunny south facing terrace make this a great place for young companies in IT Media and retail to come for team building and project meetings, as complimentary comments in the visitors book prove.
Additional self-contained accommodation is available in The Oast, which sleeps 8 in comfort and in Cherry and Plum Cottages, which each offer secluded and private accommodation in their single bedrooms.
All the properties are surrounded by landscaped grounds and there is a heated swimming pool as well as an all weather tennis court. The whole complex is heated by a carbon neutral state of the art biomass boiler fuelled by wood from the estate, which won the South East England Renewable Energy Award in 2007.
All properties have wireless Broadband and satellite television. A meeting room with seating for 70 for seminars etc or 50 for a meal is available in the main farmyard a mile away for off-site meetings. Catering can be arranged.
There are miles of woodland walks around the farm and clay pigeon shooting and riding can be provided. Bicycles are available for hire.
